With the speculation about the presidential election of 2028 slowly building, one name keeps popping up: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the outspoken congresswoman representing New York. According to The Hill, Democratic strategists are increasingly talking about the potential of Ocasio-Cortez to reform the party’s future and energize its base.

“She’s somebody who can cut through the noise and doesn’t talk like Washington,” said one Democratic strategist. They highlighted her knack to “cut through the BS and tell it like it is,” one held dear by both young and more progressive audiences.

Ocasio-Cortez, who burst onto the national stage when she defeated a 10-term incumbent in the 2018 Democratic primary, is now a household name. With the use of social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, AOC has shown an ability to connect directly with voters, bypassing traditional media channels.

Democrats believe this grassroots communication strategy could be a key asset in 2028, particularly among younger voters who are often disillusioned by traditional political messaging. Her appearances on popular podcasts and her adept use of digital platforms have already cemented her as a leading voice in progressive politics.

But a presidential run would not be without its hurdles: Ocasio-Cortez would have to broaden her appeal beyond progressive strongholds and into more moderate and independent voters in key swing states. But to many in her party, she is a new face who can help energize the Democratic base.

Although AOC has not yet given any indication of what she will do in 2028, her influence in the party and ability to move political conversation make her someone to pay attention to. Only 39 years old in 2028, she would meet the minimum age requirement of the Constitution, thus making her a young and energetic option in the race.

For now, the focus remains on her legislative work in Congress, but as the election draws nearer, the question of whether Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will seek the nation’s highest office is likely to gain even more traction.

Not yet she won't. I sure she understands it's not her time yet. She needs committee time. Time in the Senate or maybe a governor run first. And absolutely needs more age on her.

They are desperate for anything right now. It will all depend on who becomes the New DNC chair and how the midterms shake out. The donors will never want her. And will fight hard to keep her out.

She is a left wing populist.
Which is what the democrats need to counter MAGA.
Not the neo-lib dems we see today who pay lip service.
She has 4 years.
She can drop the woke act and push a more populist message and I think she would be a good counter to JD.
Plus she will be 40 in 2028.
Whether she will win primaries is up in the air though.
She is certainly not worse than Harris.
She is well spoken.

Poor Kari Lake she's totally depressed.

Going pink hasn't worked well for the Dems, DA BERN has been right all along. If there is an election in 2028, AOC will not win the Dem nomination withot a challenge.

So there were voters that voted for Trump and her. The primary reasons were, change candidate, real person, fighter. She is a populist as well.

I wouldn't count her out. Not 2028, too early. But a run in 2032 is possible.

You mean she's just acting right now?
Or will she pretend to drop the woke act if she decides to run and try to convince everyone "she's different now"?

Wouldn't it be refreshing for a candidate to just be themselves good and bad? At the very least people would know who they are rather than trying to guess.

Either way, even Dem supporters won't get sucked in. The US isn't ready for a Communist-leaning leader. Republicans will remain in power for at least another term after Trump leaves.

If Democrats keep backing open borders and radical trans ideologies, won't matter who they run. It will be an uphill battle.

That aside, AOC could possibly be worse than Harris. Kamala was unlikable, AOC might say something completely stupid or illogical.

She's too much of an activist.

She is a moron , who's lack of intelligence will be on display every time she is asked a question that has not been prepackaged for her
The democrats were unable to hide Joe Bidens slips into dementia, so they wont be able to hide her lack of intelligence

inflation was the major cause of their defeat, but the loonie left wing socialism was alarming for the electorate
the democrats have to take a step back to the center not leap off to the left

she will never be able to avoid the "Green New Deal" fiasco , nor questions on "Net zero" , nor '"open borders"
three political anvils tied around her neck

the democrats need to distance themselves from political liabilities

Which is what the democrats need to counter MAGA
Their platform was " Trump bad man" ie a counter to MAGA and they got their asses kick
Unless he implodes that wont work next time either
you are looking at it all wrong

The democrats have to figure what they can offer to the electorate
And if it winds up being socialism (AOC) it will be the end of the road for the democratic party

you watched what 9 years of a big step to the left has done to Canada
you say that you hate Trudeau
Yet you seem to think a fembot version of a camera ready vacuous loonie left moron is what the democrats need now?

something does not add up here

Crazy-eyes Cortez will never become the Democratic nominee let alone president.

The guy that said she's even dumber and more radical than Kamala is right. And that speaks volumes.

She's 35 and still sees the world through the lens of a wide-eyed 14 year old.
