Hey folks,

I apologize if I’m in the wrong section. I’m getting more into this hobby and am in the process of getting a burner phone. For those with a 2nd phone, do you use an E-Sim or do you use one of the main providers?

Any info such as pricing, links or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Most new phones from Apple, Samsung, Google, etc. support eSims. So you can switch between phone numbers in software and won't need to have a seperate phone that you have to charge, keep away from prying eyes, etc. Looks like Lucky Mobile also supports eSims and you can manually top-up with prepaid cards and / or automatically with credit/debit.

Pricing can vary, so it's worth comparing options from different providers or checking out deals online. As for recommendations, it might be helpful to hear from others in the community about their experiences.

Hey there! Getting into a new hobby is always exciting. When I got a burner phone for a side gig, I opted for an eSIM. It was super convenient—no need to swap physical cards. Plus, with Esim Europe, you have flexible options for connectivity. Pricing can vary, but it's worth checking out for hassle-free setup. Good luck with your hobby!

Burner phone sounds troublesome.

Some Alternatives:
  • There is an app for a virtual phone number. As long as you avoid that app to be open you good.
  • There are phones that have "dual phone" -- I only know of Huawei (highly recommend phone; great specs, and good camera) since I used it in the past; depending how you unlock your phone (different finger/fingerprint) -- the corresponding "phone" will unlock. Therefore treat it as completely new phone and 100% peace of mind since no one can find it except you unlocking it (afaik)
    • To expand on this -- It is a new phone as in - you still use the same SIM card, but everything else is separate from both phone profile Different apps and all. So you can login to a different whatsapp account if you have it, or simply use the virtual phone app on that new profile
    • Not saying to go buy a new phone butttt if you think its about time to upgrade your phone...maybe ;)
  • Additional phone number for WhatsApp Business so keep things separate

The best safest thing to do is stand in front of a hotel with your cock out and eventually you will get a shout from one of the balconies

Sorry but what is the full name of the one you use?
There are so many in the store.

Be careful if you have a iPhone and use a e sim. Even if you delete the eSIM off of your phone down the road, it still remains on your phone under cellular #’s. Just not an active one. Just be mindful of that.

Lucky mobile will let you pay with gift CC and doesn't really ask for real id.
Bought the sim at Staples.

textnow app with a burner gmail. Has worked just fine for me for many years
esim/second sim sounds like way more hassle than the above solution
limitation with app is all the 'no app numbers' providers...but honestly, I think they are the exception rather than the rule and I've rarely met a provider who isn't using an app number themselves

Need a phone for dating apps and for my hobbying. Any suggestions? I am not very tech savy and the idea of swapping sim cards is not for me
Looking for a basic phone plan with internet capability, phone and text. I want to remain anonymous for this purpose.
I have my personal phone with Freedom mobile which I want to start using only for regular communications.

Call any phone repair shops for a used phone or buy a decent used one from like FB marketplace ($100-200) that's unlocked as most are these days. Then just do a basic pay as you plan I guess with Koodo or something. Most are roughly $30-35 a month give or take. The plan really depends on how much data you need each month unless you wanna use Wifi at times.

I have one of these, TCL502, seven eleven prepaid phone, airtime is valid for one year after purchase, no ID needed for purchase, buy it in person at 7Eleven with cash, completely anonymous.

I bought it last week after my previous one's screen got damaged, touch screen no longer functional, I just put the SIM card into the new phone, good to go.

I've heard e-sims are good
Once you delete the same off your phone it's like taking the sim card out
Plus e-sims are cheap no?
