It basically operates on the same model as Twitter. Minus a few features and without all the other toxic garbage.
When you create an account you’ll have to go in to change the moderation settings to allow the content you want to see otherwise it will still show the content but with a content warning/blurred out.
But unlike twitter or other SM platforms, SWs won’t lose their accounts for posting sexually explicit content.

No it is not.
There is a setting and you could turn it off to show adult and sexual images.

What about Threads? Are SPs using that too now? I understand the need for exposure and if the ladies can maintain multiple accounts on various platforms, more power to them!

I don't think that Threads really took off with SW's, since, like Instagram, its pretty unfriendly to nudity, explicit talk of Sex work, etc.

Twitter is better in that respect, but is still pretty unfriendly to Sex Workers since it frequently cancels their accounts, and (more frequently) "shadowbans" them so that they don't turn up in any search results. It's very aggravating to know that you are following someone on Twitter, but can't find their account because you don't have their exact "@...." address.

In that respect, Bluesky has been much, much, better. The "Starter Packs" are great for finding lots of SW's at once, but just being able to rely on the search function is a big help as well...

Are the current x/Twitter provider jumping over to Bluesky?

I just heard a story on radio about this last evening. Apparently it's getting to be a popular platform, especially for people who detest Elon Musk (that would be me...)

A lot of us are now on Bluesky. Not necessarily due to the recent election. But plenty of us are fed up with having our Twitter profiles shadowbanned (hidden by the algorithm) because of various reasons.
Im not planning on leaving Twitter for good any time soon, but it’s good to have a backup and build up a separate SM account where I can actually post a nipple and not get banned or have my account suspended.
I definitely recommend joining and giving it a try.
The best take away so far is not being bombarded by bots or every second post being an ad. It’s a breath of fresh air not being on an app that’s overwhelmed by politics (on either side) and just scrolling through posts from people in our fun little corner of the internet.
It’s still in Beta, so be prepared it’s a little buggy at the moment with the overwhelming amount of new accounts.
I wouldn’t call it an exodus per se, but there has been a significant amount of people (especially SWs) joining in the past couple weeks.

Give it time....FB, IG and Twitter all started without the ads, bots etc...they suck you in with the new platform, once they build a large membership, then the advertisers throw money at them and voila, you have ads every second post...
Its all about the mighty $$$

Oh yeah, not expecting it to stay ad free forever. Not many apps can achieve that because obviously they need to make money to stay afloat.
But in the meantime it’s definitely an enjoyable experience not having an ad pop up as every second or third post. Or better yet talking about dog food, having your phone spy on you, and then the next ad you get is a targeted ad for Petsmart or Amazon

I hope, at one point, Bluesky will have the option to add where we are (like on Twitter), because right now, when you look at a provider profile, you don't know where she's from; like if she is Ottawa based or somewhere else, unless she added it herself in her bio. I don't want to waste my time looking at a profile to finally realize that she's California based.
