The “laugh in the face” type behaviour is a bit immature - sure but I don’t get those in Canada who think this is somehow “their” win too. Canada is not America. It was not our race. I just don’t get it. You will never see an America call another counties election a victory even if the person they felt was the better candidate won. It just boggles my mind. Seeing Trump or Harris signs in Canada too. I just don’t get it. 😂😂😂😂😂

its pretty sad that you do not understand the influence US policy has on Canada
77% of our trade is with the US
Canadians standard of living are tied to a significant degree to the US, whether we like it or not
US media and culture are imported in Canada ,whether we like it or not

Some could argue: do not sweat over what you can not control and Canadians can not vote in US elections
so it is useless to have a melt down over an election result you were not able to participate in

it is wise to follow major US events and stay informed
Pretending you are completely removed/ immune from US politics is naive

All you're doing is showing what a pathetic US-lapdog you are who can't come up with something original.

Essentially, you're worse than a dumb Yank because you aspire to be one ... but can't.
Thanks for confirming why your side will continue to lose - you simply cannot grasp that people want less govt involvement, less wokeness, more fiscal responsibility, and less childish insults at people with different political views.

Are you even an adult with that grade school level attempt of an insult? Good lord no wonder people with minimal cognitive dissonance venture to the tolerant left.

Trump is promising a lot more government involvement.
Tariffs, mass deportations etc are more government involvement.
Wokeness is a movement and cannot/should not be legislated.
Fiscal responsibility - tax cuts for the rich are not fiscally responsible.
Childish insults - ......really?

I feel for these people who are loosing access to basic rights and for what could come out of it in the future for us. This empathy is not detrimental to my mental health. Closing my eyes to this horror would probably be worse.
I understand that. I meant more in regards to this thread though for your mental health.

I gave the example of my sympathy for many in other countries. Not just the US but I’m not going to get emotionally invested to the point where I would have celebrated a win or mourn a defeat in an election of a country that I can’t do anything about. Sympathizes for the people - sure but that would be as far as I would go. People putting flags or celebrating as if it is their victory too is just overtop the top for me and personally boggles my mind. That is all I’m saying.

Yes Trump signed it.
But the democrats didn't repeal it.
So basically nothing changes there.
The biggest threat will be to POC immigrants, especially illegals.
Hopefully the courts there are able to balance things out.
Pollievre is more like a Biden or an Obama.
He is nowhere as extreme as Trump.
But I am not saying dont say anything.
I also feel for the immigrants both legal and illegal that will go through a lot of difficulty in the coming years.
Lol you don't have to be as worst as Trump to be feared. It's kinda hard to top. Let's at least agree on that.[/QUOTE]

That is exactly my point. What is wrong with that? People here in Canada have gone as far as placing flags on their lawns, people here have called this a win and victory as if they had some hand in it to celebrate. That is what makes no sense to me. It is not their win. They are not American. A lot of these people have nothing to do with the US. They don’t have business there, they don’t travel there, they are not dual citizens, so why so emotionally invested in the election as if they personally had a win or loss. Some are more invested in the US election and don’t even vote in our own elections.

I am not reading the room.
I am pointing out the stupidity in your comment.
Yet another lefty resorting to childish attempts at an insult when they have proven to be a lost cause - anyone this out of touch with reality is not worth genuine attempts at education because as they say, you can bring a horse to the river but cant make him drink.

Lefties are so misinformed like you say.

Abortion is at the STATE level which they clearly dont understand. And even then its not the doomsday the far left likes to portray.

Women’s space will finally be free from biological males.
Hopefully all this enforced pronoun nonsense will go away as well...

So your brilliant logic suggests that anyone who isn't a Trump supporter is a lefty?

And see I think many of the Trump supporters on this board are not actually American and have no dealings in America. Which is why I don’t understand their joy and excitement. That is my whole point.
Maybe they are excited by the idea of american tariffs making Canadian life more expensive.

It is about his platform. Doesnt matter if hes pink brown black or whatever skin colour. Emotionally mature people deal with matters on principle, not on personal vendettas.
I did not say anything about his platform.
I said the things you referenced were wrong.
You are not getting less govt, less woke, less insults etc.,
