Meh, I can't stand Trump, but his first term had no impact on me and I'm pretty sure this one won't either.

Collectively, Americans are stupid as fuck. I expect no less from that idiotic nation.
Just think how stupid an average (median) American is and imagine that half of them is dumber than that. It’s almost surprising that their democracy had been doing okay until now. Oh well at some point everything has to come to an end.

Canadian sheep are the dumbest of the dumb - we have a narcisstic dictator at the helm for not 1 not 2 but 3 terms lol in large part because of woke fake compassionate Karens who are also authoritarians that are economically illiterate.

Time to make Canada great again!

I had a conversation with a recruiter yesterday.
She started the conversation introducing herself and giving me a long land acknowledgement - "i am a settler and I acknowledge this land belongs to blah blah". :)
Bill Maher said long time ago: give that land back or shut the fuck up.
these acknowledgments only annoy people and in the end they vote for Trump just to not hear that bullshit

I'd not be surprised if one-quarter of Americans literally cannot walk and chew gum simultaneously.

There were Liberals who wanted voters to believe Pierre Poilievre was Canada's
Donald Trump before he won the election. Perhaps Canadians will turn out to be
as idiotic in the next election when they are ready to decide if our PM is worse
or better than Trump.

I don't have anything good to say about Justin Trudeau, but you're free to fuck off out of Canada and move to Yankistan any time, son.

Yes.
But that existed during Biden's term too.
That has not changed.
For Canada the 2 big impacts will be increased immigration from USA to Canada.
Including illegal immigration as they flee the US.
And any impacts tariffs bring to our businesses. Trump was talking about global tariffs.
Hope we are able to negotiate an exception to that.
Nevertheless they aren't the one who signed it in the first place.

You guys are going to sit there and watch women, lgbtq, poc, and others right being taken away without lifting a fingers. Then elect little pumpkin Pollievre that babble the same type bs and watch it do the same without protestation as well. This is what is going to happen.

Let's talk in 4 yrs.

To me saying nothing is gonna happen is burrying our face in the sand.

Clear this has you upset and maybe bowing out best for your mental health. I mean that respectfully. My mental health is important to me which is why I don’t get emotionally involved in countries I have no dealings with and can’t have a voice upon politically.
I feel for these people who are loosing access to basic rights and for what could come out of it in the future for us. This empathy is not detrimental to my mental health. Closing my eyes to this horror would probably be worse.

Yes Trump signed it.
But the democrats didn't repeal it.
So basically nothing changes there.
The biggest threat will be to POC immigrants, especially illegals.
Hopefully the courts there are able to balance things out.
Pollievre is more like a Biden or an Obama.
He is nowhere as extreme as Trump.
But I am not saying dont say anything.
I also feel for the immigrants both legal and illegal that will go through a lot of difficulty in the coming years.

The “laugh in the face” type behaviour is a bit immature - sure but I don’t get those in Canada who think this is somehow “their” win too. Canada is not America. It was not our race. I just don’t get it. You will never see an America call another counties election a victory even if the person they felt was the better candidate won. It just boggles my mind. Seeing Trump or Harris signs in Canada too. I just don’t get it. 😂😂😂😂😂

its pretty sad that you do not understand the influence US policy has on Canada
77% of our trade is with the US
Canadians standard of living are tied to a significant degree to the US, whether we like it or not
US media and culture are imported in Canada ,whether we like it or not

Some could argue: do not sweat over what you can not control and Canadians can not vote in US elections
so it is useless to have a melt down over an election result you were not able to participate in

it is wise to follow major US events and stay informed
Pretending you are completely removed/ immune from US politics is naive

All you're doing is showing what a pathetic US-lapdog you are who can't come up with something original.

Essentially, you're worse than a dumb Yank because you aspire to be one ... but can't.
Thanks for confirming why your side will continue to lose - you simply cannot grasp that people want less govt involvement, less wokeness, more fiscal responsibility, and less childish insults at people with different political views.

Are you even an adult with that grade school level attempt of an insult? Good lord no wonder people with minimal cognitive dissonance venture to the tolerant left.

Trump is promising a lot more government involvement.
Tariffs, mass deportations etc are more government involvement.
Wokeness is a movement and cannot/should not be legislated.
Fiscal responsibility - tax cuts for the rich are not fiscally responsible.
Childish insults - ......really?

I understand that. I meant more in regards to this thread though for your mental health.

I gave the example of my sympathy for many in other countries. Not just the US but I’m not going to get emotionally invested to the point where I would have celebrated a win or mourn a defeat in an election of a country that I can’t do anything about. Sympathizes for the people - sure but that would be as far as I would go. People putting flags or celebrating as if it is their victory too is just overtop the top for me and personally boggles my mind. That is all I’m saying.
