Born and raised in the city.
I love that you can go anywhere and experience different cultures and experiences.
It just seems that we have opened the flood gates on immigration and not has made a mess of this city.
I’ve had qualified friends apply for numerous jobs either skilled trades, retail or office work. None of them have been able to secure a job as it seems the position were giving to immigrants at lower starting wages.
This city was built on the backs of immigrants who came to Canada for a better life. They worked hard , raised a family and contributed back to the community.
This new generation of immigrants are flooding our city, expecting hands outs from our liberal government and working for less money.
I hate to sound racist but this passed weekend events around the city absolutely disgusted me.
The attacks between 2 rival religious groups, the dewali 💩 that happened at Younge/Dundas square and incident of the group that parked illegally.
This is getting out of hand.

My Monday morning rant!

It's becoming a huge issue in the construction field. People who say they are qualified and are not working for less then what I quote. I get people are trying to save money on Reno's but the amount of call backs I'm getting to fix someone else mess is insane.

The one thing that bothers me the most about the city now is that it's nothing but high rise condos everywhere on the slightest bit of land right up to the sidewalks.

We are witnessing what weak men create, bad times. I grew up in Weston, lived in Scarborough, Don Mills and North York. I left the GTA in `86 and have no interest in returning for anything. That`s truly too bad, it used to be a really good place to be. The only change coming is it`s going to get a lot worse, run while you can.

My issue with Dewali was that it was dangerous. Whitby allowed for firework on Oct 31 and Nov. 1.

They were going off after 11pm. But they were in the middle of the street or even worse, in driveways and they were loud. Like super loud. Not the normal type of fireworks. They are shooting them off near homes, trees, and children out trick/treating.

We have three schools with huge fields all within 5 mins of walking distance. Go there and do it like everyone else does for Canada Day. It is safer. Use a bucket of sand to place the firework, not holding it. Have water on hand. It was just out of control. Completely irresponsible. Have your festival but do it properly and don’t disrespect others who are not celebrating.

I have a hard time being sympathetic towards the people of Toronto. For decades the city has been slowly turning to shit and every time I raised objections to friends and coworkers I got shouted down as a bigot and fascist adjacent. Now the people who, for decades, literally voted for this shit are just starting to understand how fucked they are. You all made your bed and now you are being fucked in it. Maybe voting for leftists and commies wasn't the smartest of ideas after all

The "immigrants" were basically lied to by our government at the behest of the business world to get them to come here. Many will tell you as much. Full stop.

I've seen this happen first-hand.

Two years ago I saw a posting for a journalist position at a science magazine I have a work connection with. The qualifications were a minimum masters degree in chemistry or biology and a journalism background (two sets of qualifications very few people have). The pay for a full-time permanent position was $32,000/year. Unsurprisingly, they couldn't find a single Canadian to fill the position, so they turned to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to get someone.

This shit happens all the time.

Don't kick an immigrant for coming here, kick a greedy predatory businessman who doesn't want to pay Canadians their fair worth.

Also, this is definitely a problem the current Liberal government has ramped up, but do not expect the Conservatives, who will likely form the next government, to stop it.

Again... Who's in charge? Who's gonna be in charge? Who has always been in charge? (Hint; the answer is the same for all 3)

Well said, we're importing poverty and cheap labor but there's a price to pay. Immigrants need to do their homework too
and many realize they've made the wrong choice (too cold, too expensive etc.) and look south but some immigrants choose Canada as a stop
on their way to get to the US.

I think during the beginning of immigration spree, Trudeau did get involved in getting cuts from universities, colleges and school when international students came in. Ofcourse we all know how much of fortune these international students bring in the country in forms of expensive tuition and paying high rents and big loans they take to survive in the country here. Unfortunately when they became too much now and Canadians calling them out, govt. realized if they continue this mass immigration into the country, his “earnings” will come out too. Because come on, Canada became renown to become the easiest country to settle. It’s the govt. who did this as how is it possible that a person not being able to communicate in English is getting a PR of Canada?

Govt. has been involved in taking its earnings through all this.

Although it’s sad to see how eligible ones might also face deportation and lose every penny they made from working like 3 jobs sincerely.
