Election is off to a great start. Keep it classy, Libs :D

Phil, sorry but there are specific rules in place about not wearing any political affiliation things within a polling station or near it. It is to allow a truly neutral site for all to vote. It is the same to setting up tables, signs, giving away water. Handing out political information.

It dates back to when candidates would use actual bribery and bully boy gangs to entice and force people to vote a certain way.

It's also why you can't film in polling stations.

So this person is one hundred percent in the wrong, period.

This guy was clearly spoiling for a fight, and was a complete asshole. And said inflammatory things to escalate it to this. Then tried to escalate a physical confrontation. No doubt it's a two way street. But the poll worker did not start this. That is clear.

Politicians these days can say whatever they want to say and voters won't change
their decision. Calling supporters of your opponent garbage is as innocuous as
calling Puerto Rico an island of garbage. Putting the label of childness catlady
on women aspiring to be leaders is cool. The worse of all is certain VP hopeful
who wrote about how she shot her puppy in the head and had the audacity to
brag about it.

For sure he was being a dick.
But he threw his Trump hat away, and then wanted to vote, but she still wouldnt let him.
She then assaults him. That then becomes a criminal charge

Because at that point his has caused a disruption at the polling station, espousing political views at best, threatening and insulting workers far more likely. So yes, out you go, come back when you can act like an adult, calmly walk in, follow a process to ensure fair voting, exercise your franchise like 200 million other rational adults, and then head home.

He couldn't do that. If it was a she with purple hair, a Harris shirt on, calling them misogynistic racists, just for asking the same, I would say the same thing.

Would you support her?

But causing a disruption is still no reason to assault someone.
If he had attacked her first it would be self-defense, and then he has no case

Cool story but what politician called Puerto Rico an island of garbage exactly?

The worker needs to be fired, no doubt, they have to maintain decorum. But he still needs to go. Also no doubt.

I have no idea what he said, but you gotta know it was bad enough to provoke her. That's on him. Even the court system recognizes provocation as a defense.

Sorry Phil, this wasn't just about a poll worker, but an asshole male Karen, with a huge mouth, an
Inflated sense of self worth, an axe to grind, and completely lacking in situational awareness or courtesy to others.

He came in spoiling for a fight, and that's what he got.

To be precise that remark was made by a comedian in a political rally.
But I presume the comedian must have checked with the politicans in
charge what was proper to say and what was not beforehand. And what
he said would be attributed to the politicians whose interest were at stake.

Sorry to do this again Phil. But Polymarket is being manipulated. In one instance 1 better with 4 accounts put 28 million and then Elon Musk tweeted about it. And if you look at the charts it's a tiny amount of large betters changing odds.

I get the premise of, if they are putting money on it it's a better indicator, but this is highly unusual patterns involving news events. In many cases BEFORE or very soon after the event. And high rollers and not large amounts of traders.

The polls always under perform for Trump.

With the largest spread at 0.5 for Harris, this means Trump is leading/winning both of those states, too.
In previous years I would agree with this, but this year there has been an increase in "weighted" polls from right leaning sources that are, imo, creating a more balanced aggregate polling result.

Either way between various methodology, pretty much all of them within margin of error, and even what polls the aggregate polling sites use, I remain on the side of....."who the fuck knows" what 50,000-100,000 independent voters in various states are really thinking. That is probably what this election will be won by.

Polymarket isnt the only one though, lots of other betting sites have Trump as favourite

You think they are doing just one? Imo this involves Elon, Saudi oil money, and other unlimited bankrollers who are doing this as a cheaper way than doing actual polling. It's working because of the reportage.

And yes there will be smaller bettors. But let's face it, Trump supporters are passionate to the point of crazy with a decent sized percentage. And are willing to gamble. Good luck getting a lefty to put their money where their mouth is.

That imo doesn't show anything about voting, which is free.
