The 14 cars using Michelin tires withdrew from the 2005 USA Grand Prix at Indianapolis after the formation lap, and all six cars which contested the race finished, with points. All 24 cars completed the 2011 European Grand Prix at Valencia.

Re: Earl Campbell: Barry Switzer from Oklahoma, who unsuccessfully recruited Campbell, said in his 1989 book that Campbell was the only player he ever saw who could have gone straight from high school to the NFL and immediately become a star.
