Nuit Blanche 2024?

Going out at night in Toronto - hard pass. I want to live long enough to collect CPP and OAS.
I can't run as fast as I did as a young man to avoid street thugs.
Stayed home.
Tucked into bed at 11pm.
Up for one piss in the night, back to a deep sleep right away after that.
Up at 7:50am this morning.
At my age that is as good as a night gets, why try to make it flashier.

Reminds me of my late Dad. As he got older he would put his pjs on at 4:00pm in the afternoon. We all had a good laugh over it.
Its overrated and underwhelming. I went last year and was standing around asking my friend where the art was until he said I was looking at it. I was looking at this lol. No thanks.
Btw I opted out of Nuit Blanche this year. However, I did go to PickleFest down at Henderson Brewery in the west end and let me tell you, it was awesome!!!

I wanted to go to Picklefest but the entry fee was approx $20 ! So $20 to pay for beer and pickles and overpriced snacks ? Great looking ladies all over the place at Sherway Gardens, free to observe.

Love all things picked and most things fermented. Maybe not fermented whale or shark or whatever they love in Iceland or Greenland.

Marty's Half Sour pickles are great. Not at too many stores tho... Marty Strub is one of the Strub family memebrs who still does pickles since Strubs sold out and the new company went bankrupt.

Starsky's on Dundas / 427 has bulk 5 gallon pails of good half sour and full sour dills as well as good fermented saurkraut. You jsut put them in a container and pay by the pound. Pretty good

Yes, exactly! That's why I love them!
I've tried to do fermented half sours at home but I never catch them in time before they get past that Marty's 'half-sour' point They are still good but I like them best as "New Dills" or as you say, "dill cucumber"
Next time I'm going to try to start the room temp phase of the fermentation for only maybe 24 hours for the first jar, then 48 hours for the second jar and let them finish slowly in the fridge.

I get fist bumps from street thugs if I'm around the Sherbourne Street to Queen East blocks at 2 AM.
I've arrested this one native dude many times years ago for shoplifting, whenever I see him on the streets, I'll put my wrists together like I'm in handcuffs and gesturing to him and say "Been a good boy?", he then starts laughing.
Ive been to one a couple years ago, exhibits were underwhelming, or maybe I'm just not an “art” guy. Just full of teenage kids walking in groups and smoking pot or drinking in public.
