He stayed at back at base and wrote press releases.
You do know that only about 10-15% of US military personnel actually see combat right?
Difference is he didn't lie about what he did while serving like Walz did.

Walz seems to use the "I misspoke" excuse a lot after his lies are exposed...

He's lied about being present in Tiananmen Square during the protests...says he "misspoke"
Then lied about "carrying weapons"..."misspoke" again. Even lied about the rank he retired with...Oops.

Why is he trying to fool you and why is he succeeding?

In the clip, Walz said he had "carried weapons in war".
This was not true. Walz went to Italy with the National Guard in 2003 as part of support for the US war in Afghanistan but he was never deployed to an active war zone.
On 9 August, the Harris campaign issued a statement saying that “in making the case for why weapons of war should never be on our streets or in our classrooms, the Governor misspoke”.

I'm sure Vance was a very, very brave press release writer.

His unit was actually in Afghanistan. His buddies fought. Vance himself chose not to.

Should have been impeached long ago. (Mayorkas)
FEMA spending dollars on migrant relief has the potential to grow as a story while the U.S. digs out of this terrible natural disaster. It's possible that this could have a significant impact on the election. Regardless of how the Biden Administration explains moving $$$ around from one pocket to another, it won't sit well with many voters. The optics are horrible.

Interestingly, this story looks to be dovetailing the media debate currently going on between @Skoob and @silentkisser .
I noticed the liberal media is in full blown damage control on this story. Now it might be nothing and easily explained away. The liberal media reaction suggests that won't be easy.

It seems to me FEMA is doing exactly what they are supposed to do in Georgia and doing it in spades. You really need to click the channel away from Fox News. I am sure Kamala didn't ask for a report of how many Dems are in Georgia before Biden released aid like someone else did in California.

Bates wrote that funding for migrant services is run through a separate "spigot" at Customs and Border Patrol, and ultimately administered by FEMA, but that it's in "no way related" to FEMA's hurricane recovery efforts, which he said are plentiful for immediate Helene response.

"I want people to know that FEMA has enough money and that we are here to support you," Jaclyn Rothenberg, director of public affairs at FEMA, told ABC News in a phone interview. "We've seen posts where people say, I'm not going to apply because My neighbor needs more help than me. Still apply. Please apply. We want you to get help from us. We are here actively working around the clock to support you. We want to encourage people to apply for assistance."

FEMA has also launched a web page dedicated to pushing back on what it says is misinformation about the federal government's response.

I don't watch Fox News. I heard someone on CBS vigilantly trying to dismiss it. At first blush, it would appear that FEMA has spent money on migrant relief programs.

I didn't say FEMA will run out of money. This is just politicking because of course Congress will give FEMA what they need. But like it or not, the Republican House is going to rake Mayorkas over the coals. Perhaps, it's deserved.

squeeze, I didn't write this story.

Maybe it's a non-story, but it all comes down to whether FEMA had Congressional approval. It's often lost that Congress has the power of the purse.

Republican officials in NC are literally begging far right influencers to stop shitposting conspiracy theories about FEMA stealing supplies, corpses stacking up, lithium heists, weather control, and the federal govt abandoning them.

But if FEMA isn't diverting flood relief money to migrant care, isn't all this total lying bullshit - like most GOP postings?

It's a developing story. I didn't know FEMA was involved in migrant relief to some degree. I want to know more.

I'm not concerned that it is impacting relief efforts. I'm fairly certain I haven't said that.

Let me get this straight, Yearp?....

FEMA may or may not have given $$$ to migrant relief. After this happened or not, there was an unforeseen, massive natural disaster in NC which required vast amounts of money from a different fund which FEMA also administers. And FEMA provided this money and the Feds will probably give more money as it is needed. And FEMA is there on the ground helping - which is their task.

But the natural disaster is all the federal government's fault because the migrants ate the cats.... ?? 🐈

Every pro GOP post on social media is saying that. So you don't really have to come out and say it.

If this is a "developing story", what is it that needs to "develop" for you to be satisfied?

(Just curious how long the sad, contentless bullshit is going to float before the GOP moves onto a new turd of nothingness).

I think I was clear when I said if FEMA had Congressional authority to move funds to the migrant crisis that's the end of it as far as I am concerned.

Does the Biden Administration have the authority to do this under a type of executive action? Perhaps, but again it's bad optics if they made this decision without Congress.

Why?

If it's within executive authority, why would they involve Congress?

It's a relatively small decision.

The Biden Administration is bending over backwards to help the relief effort, not get in the way but help as asked yet Trump along with Fox news started this nonsense to throw them under the bus and once again try to blame them with anything they can. It's one thing when something is based in fact but when something is total nonsense and bullshit it is disgusting.

I think I mentioned that Congress has the power of the purse. Many Executive Actions are outside the bounds of Presidential authority. That's why so many wind up in the courts.

Don't get all dramatic. Everyone knows the Federal Govt. is going to spend what is required even battleground state voters. If they vote for Trump, it's most likely they don't like Harris' priorities and never did.
