These types of dirty tricks are routine for the GOP and have been going on for decades.

This was the incident from 4 years ago.
I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen a similar one this campaign as far as I know.

Good chance that it wouldn't happen. If I recall correctly, the bus thing happened to Harris, and she didn't have a lot of protection with her. This time around, she'll have cops and secret service agents up the wazoo after the two attempts on Trump. Same probably goes for Vance and Walz.

Dear Dave,
This was a bunch of overexuberant locals who crossed a line during a heated Presidential election. It actually happens all the time where I live. And as you should be able to guess, it's not one of those things that is exclusive to those evil Republican supporters. :devilish:

So I'm politely saying, was this really worthy of a thread all its own?

By the way, lawyers invoking the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act?? More than quite a bit overdramatic. It's also comical anyone in Texas would waste this much energy to prevent a Biden-Harris bus to proceed to an event. The people on the bus are figuratively pissing in the wind so why would anyone get in their way. ;)

I never see any such actions like this from the Democrats, or threatening people in black neighborhoods with arrest at the polling stations if they have any parking tickets, or sending threatening letters to judges and juries who dare say Trump committed crimes, or attempt to kidnap a governor, or attempting a coup to overthrow a democratically elected president, or trying to murder doctors who performed abortions in the 80s, or taking heavy metal bands to court for corrupting their kids, and the list goes on. What do Democrats do ? give out pizzas at polling stations. Hold protests when there is massive criminal injustice against minorities. Thats about it. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to the terrible deeds the Democrats do. Yes some of the protests got out of hand when republican counter protesters showed up, but the big difference is the republicans plan these things and are premeditated and completely intentional

Do you live in an American city? Have you ever stopped to think that you are only getting information from an intermediary? Many people have come to understand disinformation can take the form of omission. So while everything you read might hold truth, you are definitely not reading everything that is true.

There is actually a fairly large, Republican minority in my city. They will not hold public events here because they will be disrupted by the progressive population. If you drove down the streets, you would look at the signs and think the entire city supports Harris/Walz. In reality, you cannot visibly support Trump and other Republicans or your house will be egged, TP'd or whatever. There's enough of my like-minded neighbors who understand this and we discuss this matter in private.

There is also the problem of city services being suspended to businesses that pro-actively support Republicans. This has a long and well-known tradition in U.S. cities. The urban press is no longer interested in covering this.

The reality is that in a Democratic city Republicans must conduct themselves politically in a different manner than elsewhere. I will tell you I don't even live in Seattle, Portland or San Francisco where progressive intimidation would be more omnipresent and aggressive. Do we have to mention that Seattle and Portland had open progressive rebellions that lasted weeks (not hours)?

I firmly believe the political division in the U.S. is greatly amplified by 10-15% on either the far left or far right. Now of you're trying to sell newspapers or improve ratings are you going to focus on the pragmatic and non-aggressive people in the middle.

omission of information doesnt exist here. There is literally nothing that happens that isnt under the watchful eyes of millions on x, instagram and the like. Do you really believe that things are happening that arent talked about or reported ? Is it Elon Musk doing this ? You know damn well if any of these things you say were actually happening, the whole Fox fake news team would be camping out there. You may be right about the 10-15% but the problem is Trump is on the side of the far extremists while Democrats are not and the things they are preaching are far different. Democrats want equal rights for everyone, money for the poor, breathable air, while the Republicans want hate, division, every man for themselves and fuck the poor attitude. Its inclusiveness vs hate and division. Which message do you think is what Jesus would want ?

You mean like how the entire U.S. mediaverse were screaming about President Biden's cognitive decline. Yeah, can you believe the Biden Administration ignored the pleas from the likes of CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT and WaPoto for him not to run for almost a year?

I know in aggregate people out there are conveying information on all the events of the day. The first question is it getting to your eyes and ears. The second question is are you open to hearing information that conflicts with your worldview.

It would seem you forgot about progressives in big U.S. Democratic cities cancelling out people with different shades of politics in their city. Seattle and Portland were particularly egregious because they ignored the will of the local electorate to force some type of idealism.

two very different things. You were first talking about Republicans being harassed all the time in public and that not being reported. I find that very hard to believe considering Fox rushes to the scene and interviews a 12 year old who was told to take his MAGA hat off or a tranny reading in a library. The news cant wait to find a story and the things you are mentioning would be godsends for fox

I have no idea where your point is. From what I remember, Fox does cover some of these stories of political intimidation. Progressives in cities intimidating Republicans is common to the point that it's just not headline news. Some Trump supporters in cars encircling a Biden-Harris campaign bus in Texas is really not headline news. These were local Democratic surrogates on the bus. Biden and Harris were not in Texas.

Progressives causing chaos and threatening violence in Chicago to prevent a Trump rally in 2016 is headline news. Isn't this story enough apples to apples for ya?

I wonder how Trump feels about the 2 assassination attempts on his life compared to a bunch of cars surrounding a bus...

Don't forget it was a bus with pretty, Texas liberal Wendy Davis on it. The State of the Nation balanced on her safe arrival.
