The purging is part of the medicine process so do not eat before the trip so there is nothing to puke out

I did it at a retreat just north of Toronto with a real shaman

Beside me someone was puking into the buckets you are given

It was beautiful to listen to as I understood she was purging out
bad memories that were trapped inside her body

People were crying out bad traumas of rape etc but it was beautiful to hear as I understood they were being healed

You have to experience it to understand. You have this understanding what other trippers are going through

I did a lot of moaning which is also purge

Some shake out their purge

Some do not purge

It was amazing and beautiful and a lot of hugging after
Oh my goodness.

And a real shaman as well. 😕

Psychedelics -- and even weed -- can definitely trigger or bring mental health issues to the surface, but for most people who are genetically prone, those issues are eventually going to show themselves.

Also, the brain isn't fully developed until about age 25, and I wouldn't recommend anyone under 30 taking them, especially in heroic doses.

I say that with the benefit of hindsight, since I tripped for the first time on shrooms at 14 and LSD at 19.
I grew up in the 70's and dropped acid for a few months when I ran with the hippie crowd. Sometimes it was fun. (Nothing like getting the teenage giggles when you're high on acid). Once of twice definitely not that fun at all.

Quit using when I changed crowds and didn't really miss it.

To add, I think this short scene from The Rum Diary where Johnny Depp's character takes an LSD trip and comes across a lobster tank outside a restaurant sums up the sort of "breakthrough" that I had.

I find it hard to accept you are communing with a lobster LOL

But, seriously something is going on. So many questions

Is it real or a mental construct?

Either way it needs to be studied.

Can you trip and come back to function normally? Absolutely. Most trippers do

Does everyone? Apparently not .

That it can be a medicine is proven beyond debate as it is now used in legal clinics after many rigourous trials

WTF is going on with the entities in deep dives with DMT ?

It should be studied without restriction.

That you should have the freedom to explore your own consciousness is enshrined in our contitutuion

How can your mind do this?

Those who've taken LSD will 100% get it.

One of the things that happens on acid is your empathy absolutely skyrockets. You feel "in tune" with other people and other creatures; your individualism and sense of self-importance is stripped away and you feel like you're apart of something far greater.

Without getting any more hippy-dippy, that's the best way I can describe it.

The term for this is "ego dissolution".

Example: I remember years ago being in a park tripping hard. As I made my way down the footpath, I saw a snail in the middle of the path. I legitimately became concerned for its safety and moved it to the side of the path in the direction it had been heading so no one would come by and step on it.

Seeing this snail on acid gave me an overwhelming feeling that it had as much right to go about its life as I do.

Stone-cold sober, I would have walked past it and thought nothing of it.

How did you know it was on acid?

That is called a misplaced modifier.

Example

Neil Armstrong made history as the first man to step on the moon in 1969.

Makes it seem he was the first one in 1969, which he was, but not the first one ever.

Should be

Neil Armstrong made history, in 1969, as the first man to step on the moon.

If you had a brand new car with a quality engine and you know that you could never have a better car and it has to last you a long time. Would you experiment with it and put nitrous oxide gas in the air intake and unproven additives into the engine oil to improve the performance without truly knowing the long term effect. Or would it be better to take the advice of engineers that designed the engine? Why would you take a chance on injuring your health or losing your life with drugs of dubious manufacture and unknown source. The people the die from fentanyl overdose are people that are so addicted that the need for immediate high is more important that safeguarding their lives.

You're assuming all "drugs" are equal. They aren't. I've never heard of fentanyl ending up in LSD supplies -- like ever.

Fentanyl is getting mixed in with drugs like heroin and other opioids, as well as meth and cocaine, not LSD, weed or mushrooms.

There are thousands of cocaine, meth and heroin manufacturers across the globe and just as many distribution lines. Know how many people are cooking LSD on Earth? Literally, just a handful -- like three to five -- at any given time. It's incredibly hard to make:

1. You need to have a licence to access to the precursors like cultivated ergot and not raise suspicion
2. You need to have a full laboratory setup
3. You need a clandestine place to cook it
4. You need to have a strong knowledge of organic chemistry -- synthesising LSD isn't something some hillbilly can cook

When William Pickard, the world's premier LSD chemist at the time, was busted in rural Kansas in 2000, police seized 410-million hits of acid from his lab. The world's LSD supply dried up for close to 15 years when that happened -- like it was nearly impossible to get.

RE addiction, know how many LSD addicts there are in this world? None. Zero. You cannot become addicted to LSD or any other psychedelic.

RE long-term effects? None. People have been taking acid since Albert Hofmann accidentally dosed himself in 1943.

Know what the record dose for LSD is? 55,000-ug, or 550 times the normal dose. A woman snorted lines of powdered LSD thinking it was cocaine. She had no adverse effect, but did have positive effects. Show me one other substance where you can take 550 times the normal dose and not have adverse effects.

To add to that in terms of psychedelics like mushrooms you can easily produce them for yourself and not have to worry about contamination and in relation to what ceiling cat said about experimenting with your car engine, that was designed by a known engineer and they definitely can give you the best advice because they designed the engine but in terms of the brain we can't talk to the engineer and there are a lot of good arguments to be made that brains can potentially work better having been enhanced by psychedelics. Ever heard of the stoned ape theory?

I am just using fentanyl as an example of how illicit drugs can be contaminated or manufactured carelessly to make a quick profit. How competent is the cook that makes your drugs? There is no standardization of dosages. Illicit drugs are taken at your own risk.

Indeed, I have heard of the stoned ape theory, and while it sounds a bit dubious on the surface, I like to think it's true!

Also, speaking of growing your own shrooms, you can also order legal/quasi-legal LSD analogues in Canada which are coming straight from a professional lab (although you pay through the nose for tabs). In Germany, you can buy tabs of LSD analogues from vending machines, lol.

You raise valid points, but I have to say that in nearly 30 years of using acid I have never had a dose that was significantly bigger or smaller than what it was sold to me as -- as in if it was bigger or smaller, I certainly could not tell.

Chemists use volumetric dosing for LSD. What they do is measure it into a flask with a needle and mix it with a quick-drying solvent. The sheets of tabs are then placed in a container with the mixture until it's all absorbed and then the sheets are taken out to dry, so it's pretty spot-on with the accuracy.

If you were getting the right stuff it would probably be under weight on the potency. It is the bad stuff that will harm or kill you where you will get a big dose. There is so much bad stuff out there that every cop. ambulance attendant, ER and drug store carries Naloxone (Narcan).

In my younger years, I knew a guy that was a frequent illicit drug user. The last time I saw him 10-12 years back his arms and hands were swollen with edema. I suspect from continuous intravenous drug abuse. When people are using illicit drugs and their addiction spirals out of control they turn to the cheaper more harmful drugs like meth, unknown to the user often cut with fentanyl. The vast majority of people that overdose on fentanyl are over the age of 45-50 years old.

While I can't say for sure either way it certainly seems plausible.

That's really interesting, I'd love to here more about that. So what would an individual have to do with said analog in order for it to be user ready?

Sure, click this link and then click the "mail order" tab. It's an online shop in Vancouver run by Dana Larson; he's probably Canada's premier psychedelics advocate. He sends anti-drug politicians his products, just to fuck with them, LOL

I can personally vouch for the acid he sells. Unlike here in Ontario, LSD for sale has been decriminalised in BC, so it's all good. Once you get your tabs, they're good to go. Judging by the stuff he has in stock, it looks like he's upping his game because they seem to be good old-fashioned LSD-25 and not analogues he's selling

Much appreciated! Actually I've been using them for quite a while and I too can vouch for their service. They sell lots of amazing products and their customer service is great. Dana has really been a trailblazer for many years now dating back to before cannabis legalization. I've been tempted to try some coca leaves but have yet to take the plunge. Have you tried anything on their menu besides lsd? Such a shame that shit can't fly here in Onterrible. They jump all over those mushroom shops in record time here.

I have a buddy in Vancouver who lives near Dana's brick-and-mortar shop and he has bought the coca leaves from him and they're all good. Never tried anything else from him, but I would love to try DMT (never tried it), but it's so bloody expensive.

Ya it's pricey but at the end of the day if the quality is there it's well worth it. Finding that anywhere else is practically impossible. The powder form is pretty reasonable but I'm not very well versed on how to consume it and there is a realistic chance of ruining it. Dmt is something I really want to try. Considering it naturally occurs in our brains I think it would be a really interesting trip.

I believe DMT only lasts for about 20 minutes, but it's supposed to be an extremely high-octane psychedelic experience.
