Actually, I don't know anything about the Diddy saga, nor do I really care. I was reading the thread to see what it was about and saw the post that I commented on. I was just pointing out that sex, or the desire for sex, with a 15 year old is not pedophilia. I wasn't contributing to the thread about Diddy, or commenting on whether I believe he diddled Bieber. I was just making a comment about the use of the word and then Grace decided to chime in claiming that I was defending that kind of behaviour.
So, when you accuse me of being 'more' concerned about proper English, I take offence. Why did you feel the need to reply to my correction of someone's misuse of a word?
This is a thread about Diddy. Yet you are derailing it by playing word games because you are more concerned about proper English. You just admitted it. Personally I don't find it surprising that a 'scholar' would be concerned about proper English, after all, isn't that sort of their 'thing'? I guess certain people's alarm bells get raised even at the mere mention of words like that, despite the context.
