On September 19, 2024, Shohei Ohtani became the first Major League Baseball player to have 50 or more Home Runs and 50 or more Stolen Bases in the same season.

Name the other Major Leaguer who had both a 50 Homer and a 50 Steals season at some point in his career.

On September 19, 2024, Shohei Ohtani had 17 Total bases, going 6-6 with a single, two doubles, and three home runs.

Three Major League Baseball players have had more than 17 Total Bases in one game, and three others also had 17.

Name as many as you can.

Hints:

All of the players with 17 or more Total Bases in one game, other than Ohtani, also hit four home runs in that game.

a) Two of these players are members of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

b) One of the players on the list spent his entire Big League career with one team.

c) Other than Ohtani, two other players on this list were named League MVP at least once in their major League career.

d) One player on this list was a three time World Series Champion; twice as a player and once as a manager.

e) One player on this list had less than 100 Home Runs in his Major League career.

f) One of the players on this list is a former Toronto Blue Jay.

tml correctly identified Shawn Green, (19 Total Bases, Major League record, while playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers).

g) None of these hints are about one of the players on the list, (except this one).

Name the two most accurate FG kickers in NFL history. Accuracy is defined as the highest percentage of attempted field goals that were successful.

See post #5227 for the answer.

No doubt that it would have been Don Drysdale, if he had played past age 32, but I'll go with Nolan Ryan, mostly because of the length of his career, and his tendency to be wild at times.

When Drysdale was instructed to intentionally walk a batter, he'd hit him instead. His reasoning? "Why waste three pitches?".

Eddie Matthews.
Correct!

Matthews was a rookie with the 1952 Boston Braves, and he played for the Braves in their first season in Atlanta, (1966). In between, he played in all 13 seasons of the Milwaukee Braves. He was a member of the Detroit Tigers World Championship team in 1968.

Nolan Ryan was my guess, but that's incorrect. In fact, he's not even in the top 5 of modern day pitchers.

Don Cockroft, Cleveland Browns 1968-80. Place kicker and punter. 65.9% lifetime Field Goal Percentage. Possibly the last 'straight on' kicker in the NFL.
Interesting. No disrespect intended to you or Don Cockroft, but I think the Washington Redskins Mark Moseley was the last straight on kicker in the NFL.

I did say "possibly". Cockroft was one of the last few, and Cockroft and Moseley were in in the NFL at the same time for ten of their seasons.

I know. I just didn't want you to think I was being a jerk by suggesting Moseley.

I know less about sports trivia than you think I do. I read a lot of wikipedia, and I do searches for sports information about which I'm curious. I know dick about hockey after the 1970's.

Among all Major League Baseball Managers of the post 1900 Modern Era with a minimum of 162 wins, former Toronto Blue Jays managers Carlos Tosca and Charlie Montoyo achieved a feat which no other Manager has done.

What is it?
