You acknowledge Israel is committing genocide and illegally occupying Palestine yet you think they are right to also attack Lebanon as well?
Why?
Simple. Attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon is not the same as attacking Lebanon. Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations sponsored by the murderous Iranian regime. And all three are sworn to the destruction of Israel. Whatever actions Israel takes against these terrorists anywhere in the world is fair game in my opinion.

However, Israeli occupation and seizure of Palestinian land in the West Bank are illegal. Like his father before him, Netanyahu does not even recognize the existence of Palestinians. He refers to the West Bank by their biblical name of Judea and Samaria. And the slaughter of innocent civilians in Gaza, denying food, water, fuel and medicines to Gaza are acts of terrorism. If there is one Hamas militant in a building housing 100 civilians, Israel will go ahead and drop a 2000 pound on the building obliterating everyone. This is how they are prosecuting the war.

Hopefully, you can finally discern the difference. But somehow I doubt it.

show me one example when an army was fighting against a large well organized, financed and armed group of militants that took civilian hostages and hid with them in billion dollar tunnels under civilian structures and where that army took greater care to protect civilians or achieved a better ratio of civilian vs militant casualties.
I’ll wait.

There have been several documented cases of Israel bombing areas they have designated safe zones. So continue your celebrations.

So yeah, this is a fine time to back the ICJ/UN rulings and go all in for the two state solution.

Otherwise the options are a genocide 'final solution', continued resistance under apartheid one state rule or international pressure for the one state solution with equal rights. Except with equal rights Palestinians would have the same number of voters as Jewish Israelis and they would never allow that either.

You got a better plan?
Nope, no better plan from me.

I've always thought a two-state solution of some sort is the only option based in reality. However, for as long as I have been alive, I have understood that the then-current, Palestinian representatives (?) would negotiate then back out and resort to the old ways of resistance.

Frankly, I also think the most senior Palestinian militant leaders are under extreme pressure, or even just encouraged by Iran's support. Iran is a truly evil fucking empire. EVERY Iranian I know here in Canada hates the theocracy that governs everything there. I'd love to travel to Iran. Looks like a beautiful country and I like the Iranian people I've met. Iran has such an incredibly rich hostory in science, medicine, astronomy, and culture overall. And it STOPPED once the whole fucking Allah/Islam bullying started. It's kept a lot of Arab people behind in just about every aspect of humanity.

I can also see it from their side as so-called "settlers" take over land even when the Israeli gov't is negotiating the opposite etc.

I can't stomach the bombing of Gaza to kill a few Hamas vermin but killing and maiming hundreds of bystanders. Nor can I not feel disgusted when all Ive ever heard about Palestinians was through the actrions of the PLO, Hamas etc... dumb missiles, suicide bombers, hijackings etc. So I understand Israel taking actions to take out these fighters. I *LOVED* the pager attack! Blowing the hands and eyes out of those Hamas members who were senior enough to be in on the command circle seems like a good way to avoid those mass non-combatant casualties. And disrupting their communications ability will slow things down a bit. I hope Israel doesn't go into Lebanon.

Putin, the Pope and Erdogan have all declared that Israel is committing terrorism as well.

Your second paragraph articulates clearly why Israel is wrong to try to use force to defend their illegal occupation, yet you still defend it based on calling people 'terrorists'. You act as if this is a magic word that means you can ignore international law and human rights. But if you do, you're just another terrorist yourself. Either you back a rules based world or a world ruled by force.

Let me ask you, Schlong.
If you were Palestinian and living in either Gaza or the West Bank what would you do while you watch Israel take more and more of your land?

Let me ask you, Schlong.
If you were Palestinian and living in either Gaza or the West Bank what would you do while you watch Israel take more and more of your land?
I'd do everything I could to GTFO. Land means nothing to ME, personally.

My father fled a Baltics country when the Soviets occupied it. His two older brothers (16 & 18 yo) lost their lives fighting the Soviets. My grandfather was a WW1 war hero but he said he couldn't lose another son to war so they left when my dad was 15. My grandfather loved his sons more than his country, as did my father. They lived in UN /American DP Camps in Germany for 5 years before moving to Canada living and doing hard manual farm labour for another five years. When I asked when we could visit his home farm, he said ,never'. It is Russian now and there is nothing we could do about it. And he was right. There were the legendary "Forest Brothers" who fought an insurgent guerrilla war against Soviet MILITARY targets until 1956. But never Russian civilians sent to "Russify" the Baltics. They also used other forms of quiet insurgency, never against civilians though.

Ultimately the Baltics did not 'win' their freedom from the brutality of Soviet occupation, they just seized the opportunity when the Soviet Union failed.

Like Palestine, and unlike Ukraine, the Baltics had ZERO chance of running their occupiers out. So they made the best of life as best they could. As many Palestinians did before Oct 7. And when they had their chance to do so peacefully, they did so.

Although I support the brave Ukrainians who are fighting, I don't blame any of them who fled. I also don't hold anything against, in fact I appreciate, Russians who have fled Russia rather than going to war. That is, if they don't support the Russian war.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, I was so riled up to go there and fight or turn wrenches or do anything... but two things stopped me.

One being that when I looked into details, I was told since I have no military training and don't speak the language, I'd be doing more if I donated the money I would otherwise spend travelling and living there, and to be vocal and politically active to whatever degree I could to further the Ukrainian, and free world's, cause. And I have and continue to do so.

Second is that my father loved his family, his son and daughter and wife.. more than the land where he was born. He said that Canada was his new home and this is where his future and family is. My dad would be mortified if I dared risking sacrificing my life to fight Russians. Although I think he would be proud of the political influence I had exerted in directly helping the Baltics during the transition out of Soviet rule. I am now a dual citizen.

I understand that almost none of the Palistinian people trapped in Gaza have next to zero chance of escaping to the West, so asking what would *I* do is not relevant.

But IF you are asking would I fight as a Hamas militant and execute attacks on Israel, or take my chances being killed by my own people for refusing to be a martyr, I'd take my chances. I'd never engage in attacking civillians.

In closing, as I've said SO many times... this is a complex issue. I have tried to learn as much as I can about it lately, despite having some cursory knowledge of the history of the creation of Israel and the conflicts arising from it. And I am left being empathetic and supportive of both sides.

Having said that I don't think will ever be solved 'until the Palestinians love their sons more than they hate Israel'.

Hamas was operating according to a "rules based world" when they savagely raped women and slaughtered 1200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200. You are beyond hopeless. Keep at it

Israel has severely compromised the operational capabilities of the Hezbollah terrorists. That is phenomenal. I wish they had been just as surgical in going after the Hamas terrorists in Gaza

Israel made the decision to commit genocide to defend their apartheid rule of the illegally occupied Palestine.
Own it.

Why should your claims of who is a terrorist be taken any more seriously than Putin or anyone else?
According to you, Putin is now justified in killing Israelis.
No genocide, fake news. Hamas used their own civilians as human shield in the name of Allah and they openly admitted it. . The sooner the middle east gets rid of these terrorist the sooner Palestinian civilians will live in peace. In the meantime Israel is doing a great job getting rid of these terrorists.

I don’t celebrate gaza bombings. There’s nothing to celebrate.
I’d celebrate if by virtue of some act of god gaza or better yet israel for this matter would separate from the continent, float into Mediterranean and become an island.

The GTFO option didn't work out well the first time. During the first Nabka Israel drove out 700,000 Palestinian who are still stuck living in refugee camps around Israel. There are 5 million in total and they are still registered as stateless refugees. That is not a memory for Palestinians, that's the reality, with family and friends stuck across the border. Because you've got Jordan, Syria and Lebanon hosting 5 million refugees for 75 years no other country will let in 6 million if they even wanted to leave.

Over those 75 years Palestinians have tried pretty much every single option. Peaceful protest (google Great March of Return), passive resistance, political pressure through BDS, attempts at international law like the ICC, ICJ and UN and yes, violent resistance.

They are still there, still living under occupation and still watching the Israeli state use settler terrorism to steal more of Palestine.

The ICJ/UN declarations that the occupation is illegal and must be ended within a year are really the last chance for the two state solution.
Without that, is it going to be a 'final solution', the one state apartheid solution or an attempt at Nabka v2?

Ask any of the Israeli supporters two questions and see what they say.
1) What is the goal of the attack on Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen
2) Define the borders of Israel on a map.

See if they can do either of those things clearly.

You can’t get much more offensive, ignorant and racist that to believe that Zionist claptrap.

The truth hurts, eh?

I've read and watched several accounts of how young Palestinian boys and men who would even so much as speak up within their own families be shamed and in some cases turned into the authorities for not being willing to become martyrs etc.

In my personal experience, my grandfather escaped a Baltic country to save my father, then 15, from being conscripted into fighting the Soviets. He himself had been a WW1 hero fighting in several battles against Russians and remained a member of the National Guard until they fled in 1945. He had already lost two sons conscripted by the then German occupiers to fight the incoming Soviet occupiers.

My grandfather lived to 90. My father lived only half that, dying of cancer. I spoke to my grandfather almost every day in the weeks leading up to his passing. I'd try to cheer him up etc. On the evening he died, I said that we would soon go his summer cottage where I'd replace the roof with his other grandsons. His last works to me before I left that evening were; "No more cottage for me, me is tired. And me is sad since losing my first son, then second son, and then your father, my favourite son. My heart began to die when Xxxx was died by za Russians. Zen my second son, Zzzzz, again my heart dies more. I thought I saved your father. But when your father died ten years ago, I died, finally, too. Nothing is more important than my sons. I am tired and sad that I saw all my sons die before me, but happy you are alive. Be happy grandson. Bye bye."

The Doctors said his heart just slowed down, and down and down after he went to sleep.. until it just stopped. His heart simply finished the dying that started when he lost his first son in 1944. He never said he hated the Russians, despite fighting them in the coldest, worst battle, losing his own brothers to the Russians, losing his son, his farm, his country to the Russians. My aunt told me that he remained and worked a few days a month as part of the National Guard until he took what was left of his family and fled. All five lived long, prosperous lives. Except for my dad.

I have no kids but I never send my son to war. But I think I have some insight into the loss possible. Frankly, I'm not one much for borders or land defining a country.

I grieve for the Palestinian and Israeli people who have lost their children, their parents, their friends. But the deaths will continue until, 'the Palestinian people love their sons more than they hate Israel.

I have read and considered all of what you wrote above, and much of what you have written and reposted from other sources. I agree with you that the Palestinian people have been, and are being fucked over. I WISH I could do something about it. Or that I had a workable solution in my mind. It frustrates me that I don't.

I have heard stories of many of my Arab friends and former employees that came here as refugees from Palestine, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. Holy shit. The stories they tell are unfuckingbeleivable. Even a guy from Iraq who was one of many personal bodyguards and drivers to Saddam. But you know the common complaint they all shared with me? The Arabs are their own worst enemies!

One wildly successful Lebanese friend of mine said he LOVES Beiruit. Grew up there as a boy in the worst neighbourhood. Now, as I said, he's wildly successful. He's also a beliggerant asshole on the surface, but a generous, kind man in reality. Maybe the most wealthy self-made multi-millionaire I know. $200m+. I asked if he still did business in Lebanon. He replied that "even for me, these fucking Arabs fight too much... all they want to do is fucking fight... I've had enough fighting by the time I was 10 and we GTFO"

My Iraqi friend said that the USA actually fucked up the Iraqi people by getting rid of Saddam. Said that "we" (meaning Iraqi's and Arabs) needed a strongman like Saddam to keep us from always fighting and killing each other. He told me so much about the tribal and Sunni vs Shia conflicts that will never die. And only Saddam kept them in line. He said people could have a good life in Iraq if they stayed out of politics. There was NO violence from Saddam unless you started up with some shit. He said he ran Iraq like a good business, looked after his people etc. My guy was even a closet Christian... and Saddam knew it. He did say that Saddam fucked himself and the country by invading Kuwait and then went fucking batshit crazy.

I also have jewish friends who say they hate what Netanyahu is doing. Said he is as bad as Putin but seems to think he has to be that way for Israel to be secure. Otherss are much more angry and call Palestinians vermin. (That was the last lunch I had and will ever have with this guy in my life!)

Anyways. like I said, I feel for both Palestinians and Israelis.

I used to think those blondes wishing for "world peace" in their pageant speeches were just bimbos. Now, not so much!

Its a screwed up history for sure, but given how screwed up the US is right now I don't think that's an Arab only trait.

I have an Iraqi friend who lived through the war as a kid, Bagdad and Beirut were both called the Paris of the middle east at different times. Beirut has a messed up constitution that tries to cover for plurality of people but doesn't work well. They are also still recovering from the 1982 invasion and the bombing 4 years ago, not that they didn't also have other problems. Same with Iran, I agree with you, great people here who have immigrated and its a pretty rich country with a stupid, repressive government. Iran was a pretty happening democracy until they decided to nationalize their oil, then the UK and US decided to aid a revolution that totally screwed up. Not only is their oil still nationalized but it gave power to a series of fundamentalist, anti western leaders. That's really the big story, 'interventions' and wars never make a place better. Maybe you could argue for the US revolution and the French revolution, but largely revolutions and war are a bad way to change things.

Netanyahu is like a smart rump. He's just as corrupt but a smarter politician, the single biggest reason the genocide is continuing appears to be because if Netanyahu stops it he will be on trial for corruption and booted out of office. That's particularly messed up, but then again, the entire country is going along with it. The US also had a poll that said 54% support mass deportations of immigrants. That seems to be a global reaction to end state capitalism.
We see it here with 200,000 more homeless in Ontario over the last few years. People get angry that the rich are getting richer but then the rich, who control the media and message, tell everyone that its immigrants that are screwing things up, not the fact that people like Musk are so rich they buy trips to space for fun.

We are new close to 1 year of the US/Israeli genocide in Gaza. There is almost nothing left to destroy and all Israel can do is keep dropping bombs and killing people. Or their new pass time, using drones to shoot kids. There is no endgame for Israel, there is no chance they can kill all of Hamas, all they are doing is creating the next and more desperately angry generation. Israel can't ethnically cleanse Palestinians and even they likely won't try to kill them all. So what are they doing now?

Netanyahu needs more war to stay in power. The US won't let them attack Iran, so Lebanon is Netanyahu's goal to extend his war time power.
Again, what will they gain?

It just needs to stop.
