The more this goes on, the more crippling this is. It's incredible the planning and long term deep cover it would take. And it had to involve several people, all moles, who fooled Hezbollah completely. And done so brilliantly. They would have had all eyes on weapon making, ops planning for their security while leaving this to a "low level" geek to manage. Thinking there was no danger from this.

And imo these moles clearly suggested various ideas, and clearly directed the direction, completely bamboozled the leadership of Hezbollah into being the author of their own destruction. And they PAID for the delivery system, and distributed it. All it cost was time, several pounds of low level explosive, and the dedication of a select crew of patriots willing to sacrifice and take the risk.

Hezbollah will never be the same. Who can take them seriously in the face of this? Iran has to be second guessing support now, especially because their own ambassador was affected.

I see a leadership purge coming. Finger pointing, disarray, disillusionment, recruitment issues, supply of money and equipment issues, the whole ball of wax. There will no longer be a real threat from the north on Israel, not for a long time.

This isn't really a good move. As everyone watching TV has heard, the word is that Hezbollah is thought to have become suspicious of the devices. Israel was planning to detonate them if an escalation took place, but once they learned that the tampered devices were being looked at they decided it was a "use it or lose it" situation. As one BBC commentator said the Israelis kind of shot their bolt too soon.
No way the country where 3000 blinded and maimed young men is just going to roll over and let it go.
Only going to get much worse. Somebody was saying this might even sway the election Trumps way.
I disagree. I think morale just went down the tube's. And with no communications structure they are screwed. I see a leadership purge coming. They are going to want to lay blame inside for allowing this to get to where it did.

It may not have been the optimal timing to use them, but once in place the repercussions look like they will be almost as effective.

maybe that’s a little optimistic but definitely a brilliant operation. And why the hell would israel not do it in situation when hesbollah already made the north of israel uninhabitable with their constant rocket attacks

This model of pager is a ONE-WAY pager. Meaning it receives and does not transmit. So AFAIK, it can't transmit and the paging network is a wide area broadcast system. Unlike a cellphone which communicates by knowing which 'cell' the phone is located. Through triangulation alone, never mind GPS or wifi or BT database geolocation, the approximate location of the cell can be determined.

The Gold Apollo AR924 is an alphanumeric one-way pager in a taco form factor. It is manufactured by Hungarian company BAC Consulting KFT who license the brand from Taiwanese company Gold Apollo.[1][2]

Features
The PC-programmable and hand-programmable pager is equipped with 4 buttons with two-way scrolling, a 4 lines LCD screen, and a removable lithium battery, rechargeable via a USB-C connector, and lasting up to 85 days with 2.5 hours of charging.[1]

The AR924 allows the user to store up to 30 messages with a maximum length of 100 characters. Its data transfer rate is 512/1200/2400 bit/s for POCSAG.
TY for the info

Who's morale? Hezbollah must be licking their chops preparing revenge. That's what they do. Hamas just shot their bolt on October 7th and triggered the annihilation of Gaza. You'd think they might take pause to be embarrassed, but no. Collateral damage as far as they're concerned. Civilians can take the hit. The movement carries on. If using a big stick worked, they would have released the hostages by now.

By real threat I mean coordinated attacks. Their communication net is toast. They literally are now at the handwritten note and runner stage. It will take months to sort this out, and even begin to get a coherent net back up. And even then, they will have to take apart and examine the devices they get out of fear.

Add in the distrust that will now fester. And some will use this as an excuse for their own power plays.

Watch as some see this as an excuse for their own internal power plays. Trust is lost.

The ICJ and ICC are looking at those allegations of genocide, Shazi. The UN and most human rights organizations have already reported its genocide.
This is a thread about Israel attacking Lebanon in preparation for invasion. That's empire building in a nutshell, Shazi, invading other countries despite being ruled that they must end the occupation of Palestine within a year by the UN.
I'm sorry but you mentioned the US committing genocide and empire building and using Putin/Russia in Ukraine as a direct comparison of the level of evil.

My post was pointing out how there is no comparison between the two. And now you pivot away from your point about the US to Israel. It's not my fault if YOU took the thread off course.

Not sure how much trust there was to begin . Seems like a tricky bunch of bastards to throw you lot in with. As in, watch your back every moment. So if the organization crumbles, what pile of rubble is the winner going to perch on?

Many people have condemned Israel because they didn't run only targeted strikes on militants. Here they do exactly that with small explosives in pagers owned specifically by Hezbollah and trolls like Franky pretend it's terrorism.

p.s. Most press reports from Lebanon have redacted the names of the injured for 'security purposes' which is a clear sign that the targets were who we all know they are.

Very interesting, amazing how they do this.

Someone on line said that this could be a preemptive strike for a major attack.
Reports suggest set it up in case of a full scale war but worried the plan was compromised.

So you say its ok for people to blow up other people's phones?
This is now an acceptable form of attack to you?
...
Considering you have repeatedly justified attacks on Jewish civilians at West bank bus stops and restaurants...

And yes, a targeted strike specifically on Hezbollah operatives during a war is completely legit.

The question of why do this today? It could be that Israel is planning on invading Lebanon yet again....
I wonder if Israel thoughts about invasion has anything to do with the 8,000+ rockets Hezbollah has launched from Lebanon?

And for the record, I oppose an invasion. It would be far better if the Lebanese army was able to assert their authority and stop the illegal Hezbollah actions but I'm not hopeful.
