Opening a USA bank account as a non resident Canadian?

A business I invested in want me to open a USA business to do business in the USA. I can get an LLC in Wyoming for 199$, not too bad. Has anyone done this? I was told I need a business chequing account in the name of my LLC.

yes, you need to get an EIN for your llc and then can open a bank account with that.

you probably also want to open a personal account in the US - easiest way to do that is via a Canadian bank (maybe they do llc accounts too).

notwithstanding elons recent troubles, I'd go with Delaware for incorporation. You also need to register the biz in whatever state(s) you operate in, so if you're in only one state, might as well incorporate there

I opened a corporate US bank account in North Carolina through RBC (Georgia). It was pretty time consuming but we needed a geographic presence there to do regular business.
If you're starting a corp from fresh I would also recommend Delaware, as sneakydee mentioned.

I've tried relayfi and mercury, they are fintechs. I've been doing a lot of research but heard many are requesting to see a USA home address. I would get an LLC in Wyoming. The lawyers there said in 2024 it's gotten a lot harder to open one.

Hi sharty , I have a us based business and us bank accounts, it's a bit complicated surely but can be done. Things you need for setup would be , us address, ein or ssn number for registration of an LLC and then opening bank account. Things you need to consider are bank not allowing easy overseas fund movement, taxes related paperwork to maintain the company status and for income related taxes.
