What's a good rim cleaner for brake dust?

The brake dust seems to cake on the rim. I bought the Simoniz brand but its very liquid and it runs, I have to do it twice. A gel one would be better to give it time to eat up the brake dust. Thank you

At a SP near me
I’ve tried a few brands like Armor All, Meguiers, Simoniz, but find Sonax works the best, especially with a pressure washer

I use ZEP degreaser from Home Depot. $9 Gal. Spray on, leave it on for 3 minutes and use a nylon brush.

I use Adam's car care products. The brake dust cleaner goes on clear and turns red as part of a chemical reaction. Best to use a wand cleaner that attaches to a drill to work the entire rim.

I have used various brake dust cleaners but after trying many, I find that a few strokes with a wheel brush makes a big difference.

I also started using Armor All "Outlast" brake dust repellent. Was cheap and seems to help make the brake dust easier to remove by rinsing.

just watch what you use it's been know that some cleaners will attack the finish after long term use. Ask a few rim repair shop they will tell you.

It all depends on how long you leave the product on your wheels. I work on one side of the car at a time. I spray on the ZEP degreaser on the front wheel and then spray the back wheel. I only allow the ZEP to be on the wheels for 2-3 minutes, then I spray it off. After the degreaser I spray on 50/50 dish washing liquid/water and use a soft brush to scrub it off. I have been doing that for years, never had a problem.
