Isn't this the talk show host that ran down the stairs at full speed?

Talk show legend Phil Donahue is dead at 88.

Donahue died on Sunday night following a long illness, his family told NBC’s "Today." He was surrounded by his family, including his wife of 44 years, Marlo Thomas.

Donahue hosted "The Phil Donahue Show" from 1967 to 1996 and is considered an icon of the daytime talk show industry. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Biden earlier this year.

I liked him at the time. Clocking out at the same age as Alain Delon. I am so fucking old. I remember watching him interview Marlo Thomas and watching the "chemistry" between them on their first tv appearance together.
Dr Phil....you're up next!

Donahue was a show that you watched because you actually felt you learned something in that hour.

Guests for the most part were respectful towards each and the audience.

Phil was sympathetic but at the same time went into the tough corners of topics.

All this combative content we see today is draining.....RIP Phil Donahue.

you are right Oracle....case in point...now and again i tuned in to CNN at 10pm to watch Abby Phillip..easy on the eyes and has a soothing voice and a comfortable style....then the format changed a few weeks ago with a roundtable of people who yell, interrupt or talk over people....almost unbearable to watch

I remember the time he had on John Wayne. Wayne was probably the biggest star of the time but pretty old and the women were still swooning over him.
