religion and lack of infrastructure.

Religion because you just can't mix up religion within public spaces.

Second is pure math. Canada was already lacking half a million homes and we take 1 million immigrants. How the hell can you expect things to go well? its basic math...

Anti immigration sentiment isn't on the rise in Canada.

The same whiny fucks hated brown and black people back then and still hate them now.

white people don't want to make babies. Now white people are scared as fuck - and they should be. They have the most to lose and the most grudges against them.

Demography is destiny.

i don't take the U.K guardian seriously when they publish articles defending women raping underage boys like this

This shameful liaison does not deserve prison | Barbara Ellen | The Guardian

Looking at the case of Madeleine Martin, the 39-year-old RE teacher and mother of two, jailed for 32 months and placed on the sex offenders’ register for sleeping with a 15-year-old male pupil, do we seriously think that a female teacher sleeping with a male pupil is on a par with a male teacher sleeping with a girl pupil?

I don’t.

I had a Filipina wife. She wanted babies but I could not go for it. Too dangerous.

The majority demographic is scared of WHAT exactly? And how exactly did you mind read that?

Am curious. Dangerous? What is so dangerous about having babies?
We were not really on the same page. She was a heavy spender. But even if she wasn't, look at the divorce rates. And kids are very expensive. Then, if you have only one, you run into the trouble of worrying that child will be lonely. Plus, any extended family to help was mostly back in the Philippines. My family is aged out and not that close.

Nothing personal, Canadians are struggling a lot with rent, food costs, gas. The idea of more migrants coming in that are going to get welfare and social services doesn't fly well.

I disagree. Many people have changed their position. Even immigrants themselves see the issue.

It's just the overzealous that don't want to have a real conversation. Real concerns are dismissed as xenophobia.

Then they have the nerve to wonder why living standards are sinking.

I like all the diverse cultural influences and the foods they bring. Most are good family oriented people who are willing to work hard at jobs that whites think they are too good for. The main backlash now is due to 2 things. 1) The Donald Trump Effect and 2) Idiots on the internet spreading fake news and hate.

I like cultural diversity too but I want more than that from our immigration
policy. I'd like to see arrival of more well-to-do immigrants to hire white
folks with good pay to do jobs they thought were beneath them. My elderly
parents had PSWs to assist with bathing before they moved into seniors'
residences. The helpers were all Filipinas, Chinese, blacks but not one single
white. Money talks I believe. We just need to bring in richer immigrants so
even locally born white Canadians would be happy to wipe their behinds.

Simple. Its Racism.

Its always the case when there is economic downturn, inflation, recession etc. When people start suffering economically, they will start blaming immigrants, who have nothing to do with any of these issues.

This will then give rise to far right politics.

This has been true throughout history. When things go down, far right morons will rear their ugly heads up and come out from under their rocks.
Actually I like Pierre's take on it. It's not about the immigrants and it's not their fault. It's about Justin and bad policy in taking in too many too quickly and not supplying the programs like ESL, community engagement and mentoring that previous refugees were given to assist with assimilation.

But yes worsening economics, the pandemic and other factors have increased xenophobic tendencies. Justin screwed the pooch on this. Didn't plan for worsening conditions. And the ones suffering are those who came with promises and were abandoned .
