I probably need to sit down and read the judge's ruling, because if I recall there were issues with what Weiss filed and when in relation to being special counsel. (I suspect the truth lies somewhere within the grey area of the phrasing.)

That the judge rejected Cannon's reasoning about special counsels in general isn't surprising to me, since almost everyone agrees her conclusion is wacky.

Why?

If anything it seems more likely that he will be treated more leniently because he is no longer a useful attack vector for Trump in the campaign.
What's the point in making Hunter a white whale if you aren't going to get anything out of it?
