The reality is citizens commit more crimes than migrants within the US but you don't want me to throw you stats on this, do you?
It's a great liberal talking point. If you were reading my post, I said more people equals more crime. It's a very simple concept. Most people see this from this point of view. Honestly, when a Latin American gang member murders a young woman do you think people think
well as long as those committed killings by migrants stay within a comparable range for U.S. citizens? That's a hard sell and as I wrote this last sentence the fallacy of the talking point became more obvious.
As for stress on the system, of course, if there are too many but then why did the Repugs listen to Trump and foil a bipartisan bill created by a Republican that would have helped the border turn many away? Why, just so Trump can jump on his soapbox and blame Biden and the Dems for the Border??
Because any compromises in an election year are mostly disingenuous. You can hold the opinion the Biden Administration was doing the best job they possibly could do for three years. A voter rebellion didn't force the Biden team to come-to Jesus. Naw, that would be cynical of me to think otherwise.
As far as Trump, he is the leader of the party. If he doesn't want to do a deal, it doesn't get done. I don't know why some Congressmen got out front on this. I'm guessing a bit of ego and believing they could negotiate for the party. The leadership is so painfully obvious in a parliamentary system you should know how this works.
