Knowing all this, do you still go for bbbj yourself? It sounds like you're pretty confident in spotting the symptoms and in the immediate treatments of the various issues that can crop up.
It really depends on the vibe I get and my mood.

Short answer is yes, I will still go for bbbj. CBJ is a waste of time for me. But if CBJ worked, I'd stick with it.

I have two primary first line defences in life, that also apply to STI's.

First, is the person intelligent, self-aware and responsible enough to recognize the first symptoms and seek treatment without hesitation.

Second are they somehow mentally unstable, mean-spirited or otherwise resentful? Those people might deliberately infect someone out of general spite, or even just not care enough about their fellow humans to not want to transmit an infection.

Both of those have provided me with what I think is primarily responsible for my lifetime of never contracting any form of STI.

Having said all that.... I have a very difficult time achieving orgasm through blow jobs. But I do enjoy the sensation to get erect and the act as foreplay. Especially 69! A condom would take away if not outright prevent me from getting hard while covered and otherwise enjoying a bj. So if I am not super comfortable with her, I won't bother with a cbj. Instead, just getting a hj to get hard. However, if I am comfortable with the girl and she is obviously well groomed and takes care of herself, I'm all in for bbbj. I've had a few girls be able to get me off spectacularly with an exquisite blow job so I am always open to it with someone I feel really comfortable with.

I also don't have a S/O, and don't see sp's frequently enough to have to worry about passing on a latent or asymptomatic infection to anyone through bbbj.

If I am dating someone, since I have a vasectomy, we often don't use a condom so no way I'd risk a bbbj. And for that matter, if I'm into someone enough to date them, I'm not at all interested in seeing anyone else, sp or otherwise.

The only thing that actually worries me about bbbj is getting a herpes infection. So yes, I do look closely at her lips for any signs of emergent or fading sores. I still know there could be latent viral shedding but, referring to the above, I think any decent human would insist on ONLY cbj if they knew they had oral herpes as well as being on prophylactic anti-viral medication.

Back when I was a kid, I used to get a cold sore on this ONE very spot on my upper lip in the first sunburn of the summer or first windburn/sunburn fo the winter while skiing. Some time in my late teens or early twenties my doctor noticed it and prescribed an antiviral to take at the first signs of tingling. So i did. Whenever I got that tingling, I'd take them as directed and they would never develop into a sore. After a few years, I never got them again. But I am still wary and vigilant and ready to pop the pills. But just two weeks ago I was out sailing and it wasn't super sunny when we went out. So I didn;t think of sun protection. I got some sunburn on my face and arms. One arm just finished peeling! But I did not get any signs of a cold sore, despite my lips getting mildly sunburned and chapped.

So I guess I am a bit more willing to take that calculated risk.

Another thing I did in terms of protecting myself from STI's is I got the Gardasil vaccine when it first came out. I also got every one since. I am now up to Gardasil 9. I don;t want to get throat cancer nor pass it on to anyone.

????? Are you saying that you never get a BJ from a woman you're dating?

So you've had herpes since you were a kid. You probably got it from kissing grandma. It's still there, lurking in the ganglia of your peripheral nervous system. Since it's dormant, you won't need to wear a bell around your neck if you visit the Emirates, provided that you don't voluntarily disclose your condition at customs.

No, what I meant to communicate is that if I am dating someone, I would not risk getting a bbbj from an sp. That was to suggest to others that IF they have a SO, then they really should consider NOT getting bbbj's as they could be putting their SO at risk without her knowing/consenting to unprotected oral sex with a sw .

And I went on to muse aloud that when I am into someone enough to date them, I have no interest in seeing sp's or anyone else for that matter.

I think I know the relative I got it from. She was the kissing aunt who always wanted to kiss us kids on the lips! 🤮

And yes, I'm very aware of the lurker status of the virus. But considering that I have not had any sort of an outbreak in maybe 30 years, I think it is effectively dormant. I am hyper vigilant of any tingling and I don't like when women bite my lip when they kiss me either. And yes, as I said multiple times... I know there is the possibility of asymptomatic viral shedding. However, from everything I have read, if one is without symptoms for decades, the statistics show it is effectively not transmissible. If there is one thing I am, it's respectful of the health and wellbeing of people.

i also had chicken pox as a kid so have taken both the earlier live-attenuated and latest Shingles vaccines. No f'ing way I want to get that either! I hear it is the most painful infection there is!

And finally... I have ZERO interest in visiting the Emirates. 🤣

@SchlongConery :

You have a formatting error in post #44:

It's very possible that Kissing Aunt, in a deluded way, thought that she was 'helping' children by exposing them to the virus at a young age, 'to get it over with'.

What I mean is that KA may have known that chicken pox is a member of the herpes family of virii, so she may have assumed that when she got a cold sore, it was 'her chicken pox flaring up again'. Back in the day, if a young kid caught chicken pox, every mother with kids the same age would be invited to a play date, so they'd all catch chicken pox at the same time, and the virus 'colony' would die when there was no one new to infect. KA may have thought chicken pox and herpes were the same thing.

I noticed the formatting error and fixed it, thanks!

As for the Kissing Aunt! Nah, she wasn't that smart in that way. She wasn't really an "aunt" either. Some older second cousin of my dad. She was just affectionate and kissed everybody. She also brought candies and chocolates everywhere!

As for the Chicken Pox Parties. Yeah, I heard of those! But that wasn't a thing in our neighbourhood or school. Measles went through the school too. And I played in the dirt, ponds, streams, barns etc as a kid so got exposed to a lot of germs. 🤣 I seem to have a pretty robust immune system as a result.

A long while back from an agency girl through DT BBBJ…. Gonnorhea/Clamydia. Recognized the symptoms, called an online doctor to avoid my family doctor, got pills and they worked right away. Avoided my wife and got the all clear. I took a long break after that as things could’ve been much worse.
Are you back to bbbj? or stick to cbj after that happened

The best solution to your issue is to learn about Doxy Pep on Google.
Do you regularly take doxycycline when relieving bbbj?

  • 200 mg of doxycycline taken within 24 hours (no later than 72 hours) after condomless oral, anal, vaginal and/or front hole sex.

No, but if you are worried about it I don't know any other solution to minimize the risk!

Outside of cbj.
There is recent evidence for this doxycycline. Here's a layperson friendly version.

Always back to BBBJ as there just isn’t any point to doing this “hobby” for me without BBBJ.
you got it once, you can get it twice, I hope you will not, how will you deal with your family.... sounds risky, you got away with it this time...

Life is nothing but risks. I could die tomorrow or I could go the remainder of my life sexless.
You are a member since 2004, Im member since 2010, did you have it only once while hobbying? I guess it takes a while to get unlucky bbbj with consequences, I was lucky enough not to get anything yet.

do you care to share how you get access to an online doctor? Did they prescribe any testing for you?
