Trump Assassination: Why I'm Not Surprised

This guy never mentioned what those MAGA cult carnival rallies are like. They are tons gun flags, Confederate flags, Q flags, people openly talking violence and civil war.
All to listen to a buffoon lie, openly mock and insult people, what kind of people does he think that atmosphere attracts! After Jan 6th, is anyone really surprised there is violence associated with MAGA.
What was this guy's reason for Jan. 6th violence, did he blame Trump's and right-wing medias lies or did he do the both sides crap.

This attempted assassin, as we learn more, is landing like the guy who attacked Paul Pelosi. Paul Pelosi was much, much more seriously wounded than Trump, and the Rs mocked him, talked about how he brought it onto himself. I hear no such talk from the Rs now.
I do hear the normalization of political violence "second amendment solutions" and "when can we get the guns and start shooting" coming ONLY from the right.

I agree. Trump has been engaging in violent political rhetoric since 2016. The fact that some of this violence has now blown back on him is not a surprise.

Look, I know you're probably joking. I mean, I hate Trump. But, I would much rather he be humiliated at the ballot box. I do not want any harm to come to him or Biden, or anyone, really. Political violence leads to more, and the US is already pretty fucked up.
All that being said, what makes me laugh about this is that apparently the kid was outside the Secret Service's jurisdiction, and the state and local police couldn't stop him walking around with a rifle due to the state's open carry laws. Now, I'll admit, I'm not 100% sure if this is true, but if so....dang. How could you allow a rifle that close to a former president...
Nah, the courts should have put him behind bars already instead.

You've obviously never watched a trump rally. Its about country first and not giving away hard earned money to other countries while also not importing a million immigrants a year to drive up housing costs.

It's classic fascism. Fascism fetishizes violence. Mussolini, Hitler, Bolsonaro, third world dictators of all stripes do this.
Everyone should read Timothy Snyders book- On Tyranny: 20 lessons from the 20th century. You can read it in an afternoon. None of what trump is doing is new. It's just new to Americans, and its facilitated by an information bubble that legitimizes it, or denies it, or tells you what you're hearing isnt real.

The 10% tariff is paid by the buyer (us citizens) not the Chinese. Trump routinely lies about this.
Devaluing the dollar- to help exports - raises the cost of everything as usa imports tons of products.
If he bullies the fed to lower rates, then the economy -which is currently doing better than anytime under Trump- will overheat and that will drive up inflation.
Not a single policy he has proposed will reduce inflation (which has already been reduced enormously).
If he's elected, he'll do what he did in 2017 - start citing the numbers but now claiming he's responsible for them, that he caused them. He did that in 2017, and all the Fox pundits followed suit. 2.4% GDP growth under Obama was"pathetic", but 2.4% GDP growth that continued under Trump in 2017 - before Trump even got his budget or any policies in place - was "roaring". Now they're again lying that trump's economy - which was tanking in 2019 as the sugar high from tax cuts for the rich was wearing off - was "the greatest ever" which is so incredibly wrong that it's in "the big lie" territory.

One of my co-workers, a Trump supporter, went to a Trump rally in Michigan a couple of years ago. He went there to be entertained and revel in the glory of the MAGA cult circus.
He talked about the gun flags, Confederate car bumpers & flags, QAnon merch, Fuck Joe Biden talk and civil war.
This is the rally he went to.
Instead of watching some youtube channel to tell you their opinion of a trump rally, why dont you actually watch one? Yes he says fuck joe biden like we all do but none of the other trash you speak of.
