Baldwin should sue for prosecutorial misconduct and emotional distress.

But I imagine he's just glad it's all over with and will put it behind him...

A good example of how prosecutors will do whatever they have to, especially regarding cases against famous people, in order to make a name for themselves and further their own ambitions.

We'll see how this will affect the conviction of the armourer, who is serving an 18 month sentence for her role in the issue.

Agreed…just like when the prosecutors in Louisiana tried to charge Scottie Scheffler at a PGA event for Assaulting a cop. It was complete BS and the charges were soon dropped but the prosecutors’ first impulse was to prosecute Scheffler as aggressively as possible to make headlines for themselves. This is the problem with the American system of electing prosecutors- it encourages this kind of grandstanding.

He'd have a good basis for a malicious prosecution if this is true:

"A witness confirmed to the judge on Friday afternoon that a special prosecutor in the case, Kari Morrissey, was directly involved in the decision to file the evidence in an entirely different case file separate from the other Rust materials.

The day had the twists and turns of a Hollywood drama as Morrissey’s role was revealed, another special prosecutor in the case resigned mid-day, and Morrissey took the stand herself. During her testimony, Baldwin’s defense attorney asked her whether she had referred to the actor as an “arrogant prick” and “cocksucker” in a conversation with a witness."

Yikes! Looks like the armorer who has already been convicted did not supply the live ammunition.

"Prosecutors have long said evidence shows that Gutierrez-Reed, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in March, was the source of the live round, but the defense said the state had received evidence that suggested otherwise and “buried” it. A “good samaritan” had come forward to police this year with a box of munitions that he claimed came from the prop supplier, Seth Kenney, and matched the ammunition that killed Hutchins, Spiro had said on Thursday."

This is all pretty fucked.

I'm happy for Baldwin, as I never thought he should have been held responsible. There is a designated person hired on set whose specific responsibility is to make sure there are no live rounds in the gun. Seems clear cut to me.

I didn’t believe it as soon as I saw it and I don’t even know the details of the case

Wait till the civil case. He will have to sell his house to pay for the judgement.

Who - the prosecutor ?? Or is this just wishful thinking of another Baldwin fan ?
A well known lawyer representing the victim family said on TV they will take Baldwin to court in civil case. Based on her track record, Baldwin will likely have to pay big $$ to settle.
I am not a Baldwin fan. Just writing about the prospect of the possible outcome of a pending civil law case. Lawyers are there to make money for themselves and their clients.
Knowing there is a Baldwin with deep pockets, why not go for it? Beats buying a lottery ticket.

The prosecutor brought to run this case against Baldwin was suppose to have a great record of success but was exposed and so anti-Baldwin that she intentionally held back evidence and ultimately trashed the case. Well known lawyers are expensive but they don't guarantee wins.

If they take Baldwin personally (or any actor) because they are not firearm experts and disassembling their guns before the film runs - good luck. Your expensive lawyer is fleecing you.

I would imagine that they would take the production company (Baldwin is part ) and take them to court for setting conditions that were hazardous. It is the Producer's responsibility to take all reasonable precautions to protect the health and safety of all workers associated with the production. If a settlement comes from proven neglect, I would guess that the production has liability insurance for these kind of issues. I doubt Baldwin needs to sell the house.

sounds about right. In Canada there would’ve been adverse cost consequences if the family lost but in the states there is no such thing so it’s an open season on anyone with money.

I agree but I wil say one thing... NEVER play around with guns nor point a gun at anything you are not prepared to kill. Least of all pull the trigger.

Why would Baldwin give a fuck?? Production insurance will cover it.

I agree for me personally, but that would kill the production of a lot of TV shows and movies...

I hope it will. He is being sued personally tho so I’m not sure if he’d through some money to settle

It’s irrelevant who supplied the ammunition.
The armorer is responsible for loading every firearm. The blanks are clearly marked as such.
Her fault.
