Don’t go barking up that tree, you could be risking someone’s legit business by even loosely implying they may offer more than massage services.
If they aren’t posting on LL/Tryst etc. then don’t bother asking here.
Tbh I’m shocked they actually revoked her license to practice. I’m sure the story is much more nuanced than what’s written in the article. I actually feel very bad for this lady. It doesn’t sound to me like she was intentionally offering extra services to clients. This just sounds like someone was looking to retaliate bc she found two guys she was into and developed relationships with over time. Sure if one was married, probably a bad decision to get involved, but it takes two to tango and I’m sure he was consenting in all the ways that mattered.

I like many have found some Gems on Kijiji ( Thip, Vivian, Abby, Julie to name a few). Kijiji is free and not every MA wants to or knows how to post on LL etc. Also the LL client base might be too demanding/pushy for them.

Although the above mentioned MAs have stopped posting on Kijiji probably because they were getting reported by jealous providers so they had no choice but to post elsewhere like LL.

I do agree that if an MA or Spa is issuing receipts then it's wise to exchange info about the "happy" part privately through DMs and not post it in public.

Retaliation. She just had feelings for the person and was taken advantage of, and then retaliated against when it was stopped. She was not the type of person that would just offer that type of thing to people. She was a very legit massage therapist.

I honestly just don’t think it’s fair to callously risk someone’s legit livelihood by doing something that has been warned against and can easily be avoided by just not being an idiot. I have a friend who is an RMT and reflexologist and I would be very sad to see her business dragged on this forum and potentially damage her career and reputation by insinuating she’s offering something she doesn’t.

MAs know where to advertise and they aren’t doing it on kijiji or FB marketplace for loads of reasons

Workplaces consider sexual contact inappropriate, harassment or assault. It’s not choking your human rights to have to stop approaching everyone you wonder might touch you. Literally don’t ask or consider approaching anyone for sexual contact who is not advertising it or has not given consent. There is no need to play with fire, just see sex workers who advertise they offer sexual services. It’s that easy to keep everyone’s job and stay out of jail.

No, the Ontario RMT certification is very clear about this right from the start. I have even known RMT masseuses who did the erotic massages too, but they kept the two client bases completely separate for this very reason. They even used different names and office locations when doing the two services. Perhaps, this lady didn't know that you need to keep the two professions separate right down to locations and pseudonyms used.

Fair points. I agree that posting about legit RMTs is not a good idea. Nor should anyone go asking for extra services to these professionals.

I'm talking about masseuse and spas which advertise on Kijiji, who usually have heart emojis and coded language in their Ads. I think any legit RMT wouldn't post such Ads.

I would like to be abused in this way on a regular basis, maybe couple times on Sunday. I can see the logic behind the College pulling her card. YOU belong to the College, not the other way around. Their rules, their game. That being said, it is a giant load of horse shit that one adult gets to tell another adult what they can or cannot do with their bodies. None of this is new. It's been around since Christ was a Cowboy and it isn't going anywhere. I blame those asshole Victorians.
