Desiré Wilson won Round 2 of the 1980 British Formula One Championship (formally the 1980 Aurora AFX F1 Championship), at Brand's Hatch.

The British Formula One Championship featured lesser drivers in older Formula 1 cars. Wilson drove a 1978 Wolf WR4 for Theodore Racing, which may have been driven in a Grand Prix by one of the Wolf drivers, (Bobby Rahal, Keke Rosberg or Jody Scheckter).

All cars in the British F1 series had Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8 engines, except for Tony Trimmer's BRM, (BRM P202 3.0 V12).

How does a guy race in F1 or 14 seasons, destroying God knows how many cars, without winning once? It helped that his family owned a Marlboro franchise in Italy.

Bertrand drove for the Jordan F1 team in 1991. Gachot's trial began shortly before his home Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps, and a replacement driver, backed with $150,000 sponsorship from Mercedes, made his F1 debut, in his only race for Jordan - Michael Schumacher.
