Who are the true dum-dums considering progress
made on both sides of the war by now?
Presumably only Putin and the Russians can be dum-dums
to the OP irrespective of which side is winning the war. To
me dum-dums are ubiquitous among those involved in the
conflict.
This begs another question: Who are the smarties in the
Ukraine war? To me answering this question is easier.
NATO-US used Zelensky to weaken Russia at the expense of
hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian lives plus destruction of
infrastructures in exchange for the tentative promise of EU and
NATO membership. Now it appears the mission will likely be
accomplished in the near term. It is not hard to figure out who is
smarter than Putin and Zelensky.

Britain and Canada should have surrendered to Hitler and avoided problems. The USA should have surrendered to Japan after Pearl Harbour.

I think many in the west actually got it. It is obvious
the U.S. and allies are fighting Hitler of our time without
getting their people killed. It is better to pay someone
else to fight their enemy to the end.

Long thread on other recently purged high honchos at the Russian Ministry of Defence. Begins...
Information from Osechkin's sources on the collapse of Russian Defence Ministry: 1) Deputy Defence Ministers Tsalikov and Krivoruchko backdated their resignation letters to before May 9th, despite signing the letters on May 13th.
All those awards and medals mean nothing after all.2) Their subordinate Lt Gen Kuznetsov's house was raided and he was taken out of his bed by force at around 5:30am on May 14. His wife was also taken away.

Finland made concession to Stalin's Soviet-Russia in exchange for
peace. Since signing the neutrality agreement Finland became one
of the world's wealthiest and according to the Democracy index
the happiest country while Soviet Union remained the harsh place
it was until its final disintegration. You can't believe the Finns weren't
smarter than Ukraine.
After fighting them and doing lots of damage. They were much tougher than Stalin expected. The Finns have built extensive systems of defensive works as they don't trust the Russians. Everytime you capitulate to authoritarians they will take more and more.
It was the only way to stop the Russians. Putin can stop the war tomorrow.
It is peace and stability that made Finland the winner despite
having Soviet Union as its neighbor.
If Finland's ultimate triumph over Stalin is what inspires
Ukraine to fight to the last man (or until Putin is brought
down) then so be it.
