Dumb TVs almost extinct

Bought one of the last few models of non smart tvs two weeks ago.
Just noticed they are jacking up the price by 50.00. I paid 300.00.
Discuss. Way cheaper in the U.S. by the way.

A lot of older people prefer less complicated technology. When my parents were alive I gave them each a dvd player and tried to teach them how to use it. No luck. Had to go back to VCRs. Newer smart tvs can be intimidating for people who are not technologically inclined.

From what they told me at Best Buy, there is still a demand for them so they still sell them.

My TV is very old, it's a dumb TV. It supports uses neopronouns and think testosterone is the only difference between men and women when it comes to sport.

Now down to $ 200.00 on the current sale. Closer to the U.S. price in Canadian dollars. Should I buy another one as a backup?

Surprised that no one has said this yet, but the smart part of a smart TV is just its internet connection. If you have a smart TV but don't connect it to the internet then it's a dumb TV.

My smart TV isn't connected to my home wifi. Though I have an Apple TV connected to it for my video streaming and for the better overall user experience.
