I think the secret is to buy the generic at Costco. You don't need a membership to purchase prescriptions there.

download the maple app - pay $50 for the virtual appointment - have a prescription in 5 mins. That works for any "common" medication that only requires light screening from a doctor. No need to buy other peoples drugs.
To those that tried generic, is it different from branded. Generic drugs don’t always have to be 100 percent to the original, that’s why I was curious.
Been buying & using generic Viagara and Cialis for years from a reputable overseas supplier and no difference vs the brand names, except for the money I save.

On another note. I heard that your doctor is notified of prescriptions obtained from another doctor at a walk-in clinic. If true, it would have to be traced back through OHIP, if you don't tell them who your doctor is. Anyone aware of this?

Now, if you want a better product, sadly not available in Canada, I would recommend STENDRA. It's the next generation ED drug but they never launched it in Canada because it was felt it could not compete on price.
It has fewer side effects like, no blurred vision, flushing, headaches, and nasal congestion. That chart above doesn't site incidence...much, much lower with Stendra, but they sill list them.
Damed shame they didn't launch it.
Can confirm getting a Viagra scrip via walk-in clinic (open till 8pm) in Toronto, as my doctor’s office had closed early. I just did this on Friday. I mentioned I had taken Viagra previously, they took my blood pressure and checked my online Ontario health record (E-health) for blood-work results within the last year. As my cholesterol level had not been checked in the last year, the prescribing doctor requisitioned me for a future updated cholesterol blood test, but wrote the prescription in the meantime anyway. Took 50mg 1 hr beforehand, happiness ensued, but slight headache presented within 3hrs. Will try 25 mg next time. (Bought an inexpensive pill cutter from pharmacist.)
It is my understanding that ALL activity by an Ontario doctor or walk-in clinic will be entered on your E-health file, so it will be visible (top of the page) to your regular doctor, whether or not you divulge your regular doctor’s name.
I don’t think it necessarily will be visible to your family doctor, however if you are a patient of a family health team, and you go to a walk-in (that’s not run by your doctor’s team) your family doc gets dinged financially for the cost of your visit. (Docs in family health teams get paid with the assumption that the team will offer after hours care).
I am no expert, but wasn’t the whole point of establishing E-health to facilitate complete, up to date medical files on us all, so that any treating MD would have easily accessible and FULL data (including prescriptions) for better outcomes? And that all MD’s would have a duty of care to keep the files updated for all visits.
Just my 2 cents. Fortunately, my wife and I have different doctors, but I respect the concerns of others on this site.
That’s the idea, but (even recently) talking to the MDs that I know, only part of it has come to fruition.
