The UV light, even through ice and water clouds can cause photokeratitis. We mostly know it as snow blindnessThey finally cleared up last night
I was seriously getting worried I may have bought defective glasses![]()
The totality path went nearly down the middle of Lake Erie for awhile. The drug interdiction fleet out of Erie and Buffalo were in the totality path hoping somebody would try a smuggling run in the dark. DweebsI have family member that drive from London to Port Stanley and saw the total solar eclipse there and it was clear sky had a great experience from that location
There was many cars at Long Point but able to secure parking it’s a large park and saw the eclipse at the beach on Lake Erie. Was not crowded in the beach. Though afterwards It was bumper to bumper get out of the park but wasn’t as crazy as QEW from Niagara on that day
The parking at N falls was 70-100 dollars a day instead of $20. The weather was awful there and I’m very happy that I didn’t go there for the eclipse
This is my third planned total solar eclipse sighting so I’m generally more prepared than most

Interesting that with enough cloud cover you can get a shot without a filter.I am pretty sure going to Niagara was a complete and total waste of time.
Went to HTO Park, full cloud cover. However it did get quite dark. But when the eclipse cleared up, so did the cloud cover and I snapped a few pics. Note: the actual eclipse at its peak was fuller than this.

Did not realize totality was all or nothing. Even if you are .001% off then you've missed it.
The whole last bit where the light goes strange through to snapping into darkness for totality is really quite amazing. It's not so much the image of the moon crossing the sun. It's the rapid onset and end of darkness and the erie light that is the magic feeling elicited by a total eclipse!
Just astounding!
Really interesting that enough cover can do that.No it was just my cell phone camera. No filter. The cloud cover let me even see it with the naked eye without issues. Infact, when I tried with the special glasses, I couldnt see anything because the light that was coming through was too little (but enough to see with naked eye and snap a pic).
Considering the darkness only lasted a few minutes, you decide...Dweebs... or genius'?(the Fed's that is!)

I saw a clip from Fox News where they were freaking out about migrants trying to cross into Texas during the eclipse. I guess they forgot it gets dark every night?Considering the darkness only lasted a few minutes, you decide...
I think it was part of an inside FOX News joke to see just how insane an item can get and still be soak up as gospel by their moronic viewers.I saw a clip from Fox News where they were freaking out about migrants trying to cross into Texas during the eclipse. Stupid is as stupid does, but how many are from bogus eclipse eye protection? After all the warnings some people still dont seem to have gotten it
