I recently experienced a whiplash injury that has caused pain in the lower right side of my neck. I'm unsure which treatment option to pursue. Has anyone had experience treating neck pain? I understand that responses to treatments can vary from person to person.

It depends how good the practitioner is.
They like to keep you for ever.

I switched over time to different ones. Osteopathy also, Massage therapist.
I found a guy who didn't speak English in Chinatown TO and he fixed me what others couldn't. I didn't mind paying cash.

All the best.

IMO Physio would be my go to for neck pain, or massage therapy depending on the nature of the injury and the extent of damage. If you’ve had x-rays ask a GP for their assessment and opinion on treatment.

Personally I will never let a Chiro anywhere near my neck again.

I'd start with the physio myself but most chiro's that I've seen lately usually seem to offer a lot of the same treatments.

A good friend of mine is a chiropractor. He's told me he tells his patients to give him three visits. If they don't see a noticeable improvement then they should seek help elsewhere.

I read a book once about the origins of chiropractic and it wasn't too convincing. Having said that every time I've walked out of a chiropractic office I've felt better...Placebo effect?...Who knows. Oh and yes, after reading that book I wouldn't let them near my neck.

Sometimes nothing beats a good massage...

I won't let a Chiro touch my neck anymore. Its a delicate spot and years ago this Chiro kept making adjustments and I walked out of there dizzy and my neck was grinding when I turned it left or right. He said its because he was fixing it, before that I never had the grinding or the dizziness. Never going to a chiro again.

Damn that looks bad. Glad y'all are okay. Did you get paid time off from work?

I have osteo arthritis in my lower spine. I tried chiro to no avail and also physio also didn't help. I would suggest you try physio as many clinics will accept Ohip patients if you have a referral from your doctor.
