What a crock of BS. Especially from liar liar Blair. The same guy that threw his own under the bus following G20, then wormed his way into Minister of public safety, then lied about the sources of guns in gun crimes…..when the problem was and still is…Gangs that smuggle them in.
Sadly a lot of people have short memories and will still swallow his and their BS. If those clips are recent, clearly the death throes of a government grasping at and for any heart strings and trying to leverage the fears of war in the Ukraine.

Doubt the Canadian army cares.
And this isn't a political issue, simply a sign of the times and the case in every modern country. Not many people would have the military as their first choice of career.
They care. If you listen to the vids, it tells you we have agreements and expectations to fulfill with NATO.
You also have to keep in mind, the military does a lot of humanitarian work as well. It's not all about blowing things up.

I'd suggest the CAF make it an attractive career and workplace.
As it stands now there seem to be four paths. One is having high academics and familial military connections and getting into the Royal Military College. Officer career path and then out tp private industry once you serve your obligation. Another is having a high desire for the Air Force or Navy. Problem there is the lack of aircraft and washing most pilots out. Third is that of just getting a low paying support position and last is the tattooed wannabe bullies who all want to be Special Operators. Not all can.
Canada does indeed have top notch pilots, sailors, and special operators. But the structure and names of these are stupid and suffer serious identity crisis. FFS, Special Op's has a classically Canadian name-by-committee ...CANSOFCOM !
Nah, Canada could have a great, tight military with even more (incredible) people. They just have to re-assess and reimagine the Forces as well as make it a good career that pays almost private sector wages/

If you looked, you'd see my post was about the claims that people will claim trans status to avoid conscription. The Canadian military has become far more accepting and if we ever got to the point where conscription was needed, trans soldiers wouldn't be an out.
Typical gun nuts are always trying to push irrational fears as a justification for owning guns. The chance of the US invading is microscopic even compared to the risk of a home invasion but I'm sure your Red Dawn role playing will help you be the hero that saves Canada.
p.s. I'm sure that with with close to half of the province's population in the GTA, more than a few are hunters with registered long guns.
