The big problem for Russia starts if they win the war. Just like Afghanistan, they can't hold it or defend it.

Not only Ukraine is geographically contiguous with Russia the two
are culturally tied to each other closely as well. Mussorgsky's famous

of Russian music more often than Ukrainian music. There will be a
significant presence of Russians in the parts of Ukraine to hold and defend.

But here is the real rub, they can't afford to rebuild it which will be their responsibility since it is their's now.

Since NATO cannot send enough arms for this proxy war, how do you think they will magically come up with arms for their own armies? If NATO were to defeat Russia in a convetional war, it would take 3-5 years to set up and start war production AT A MINIMUM. and if they do get Russia to the brink, Russia will start nuking smaller NATO members to try and divide NATO. If NATO goes full armageddon, then so will Russia and yes, it will all be over. You won't have to worry about paying your bills.

Yes Urkaine is out of manpower, and even if it has bodies, they are not soldiers. Soldiers and armies take months and years to train depening on the role. The question of Russia not taking more land is answered by someone else in this thread. They don't want to over extend their supply chain, and they were not prepared for this war. They have recruited/conscipted 1-1.2m men. It takes time to train these guys. Heck even setting up the training process for 1m men is a massive undertaking. These men are only JUST starting to get rotated into combat units. When you rush the process, like Ukraine did, you get disasters like their counteroffensive debacle.

First of all, Russia's got little or no offensive capacity. It's deadlocked against a single 3rd rate power in Ukraine. In the course of that war, it's eaten through almost all its first line equipment and it's throwing untrained conscripts in meat wave attacks.

Putin talks the talk to stay in power in Russia - where the standard rant is that Glorious Motherland can nuke the west before breakfast and send tank columns to the English Channel by noon.

On Russian bullshit talk shows, they rant about nuking London and Paris twice a week. No one takes it seriously. YOu can discard that entire article as he does not say which VERSION of the t-90 he is talking about and the subvariants of the T90m. Saying out of hand that 15 year old western tanks have better sensors is not credible. T90M is the latest version, even the latest version is evolving. With the advent of drones. the threat of drones is greater then anti-tank missiles so these counter measures are much less relevant. The most advanced Leopard tank is actually produced by Poland and it got its ass kicked quite nicely in Ukraine. But probably by a Helo or drone. In Ukraine the best tanks are Russian because they are able to traverse the mud, Western tanks are too heavy. Bottom line, very few tank on tank engagements so who has the best tank is not really important.

Like a new Manigot line? Defences like that don't really work in all cases. You can see how the war is evolving. In Mariupol and Bakmut, the fortifications were defeated at high cost and took a long time. Russia flailed away at Avdiivka for a while and eventually the tactic that won the day was hammering strong points with 1500 KG glide bombs. No fortification can survive these weapons. Anyone who survives is seriously fucked up. Typically there is a massive crater where the bomb is left. you hit a few strong points with this and resistance will collapse. rapidly
