There's shitload of influencers who depend on income from tiktok I believe, the worst being moms exploiting their kids. Some of these people probably make 6 figures per month. Looks like it may be banned unless sold to a usa company within 6 months or so. I'm sure there will be some resolution or replacement for it from some tech giant.

This will happen. Some US company will buy it or it just wont operate in us. Other western nations will follow us lead.

This should have happened years ago.

I hope Oracle can continue hosting it with a new owner.

La la land
Tiktok is not turning people into morons. They just were.

Or the old verse substitute money to social media with the philosophy below.

For the love of money is the root of all of evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Bible

Money doesn't change you; it reveals who you are when you no longer have to be nice.

Money doesn't change you. It merely reveals more of who you truly are.

Also: adversity doesn't build character; it reveals it.

TikTok did something that Facebook should have done long ago. It gives back money to content creators.

While FB rubbed all content, sold the data, and took all the money from publicity.

thanks for the video

kind of hypocritical on the FBI part blaming someone for collecting data on us

isn't everything with microchip technology theoretical capable of that?

stuff like our phones, smart TV's, google

wonder if FBI is pissed at TikTok because they do not have access to that data :)

Now TikTok knows that I love snooker videos, especially with the GOAT Ronnie O'Sullivan!

Oh yeah, and also girls with big boobs, like "Yellzo"!

Plus Ron Butler of the Butler Mortgage brokerage. A guy who tells it like it is...

I don't, not that I don't like cute Asian girls. Just shows you how much TikTok customizes their users' feeds...
that's how all entertainment platforms should operate

we all get more of what we individually enjoy

what is wrong with that?

that's why TV is on it's way out

serious question

what security concerns?

are the Chines spying on what I watch on TikTok?
It`s because with TikTok American politicians lose the way they can control the message. With it`s quick and easy platform TikTok is amazingly useful to get a lot of information, often political, which is often much more truthful than any other media. And when a lie, a fabrication or any other shit is posted you can discover it within the 5-6 comments.

Umm, terb.CC ? 😂
China isn't the enemy, our own governments are, in fact, all of them combined together are. They just needed an easy boogeyman, so, "omg, Russia, Omg China!"

Part of the "concern" is that TikTok's parent could be compelled to share its user data with the Chinese Communist Party on a whim because of its National Security Law. Or that the CCP is actively using the app to spread pro-China propaganda. As if it's only China that does this?

In Canada, we have the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act or PIPEDA, which affects US tech companies like Google, Facebook, etc.. How well (if at all) that legislation actually works is a totally different story.
