If you are truly broken the banks won't lend you
money. Our government is still able to raise debt at
reasonably rate as are many nations in the world.
Hence they are not broken.
If you are older than 60 you won't likely have to
worry about our government being unable to
continue spending like there is no tomorrow.
And in all likelihood the generation of our grand kids
and their kids will pay off our debt possibly by default.
Of course by then we will all be dead.

i am proud to be Canadian and every time i cashin a carbon tax cheque i think the conservatives ae idiots pretending it effects people only people it effects are billionaires boohoo
.
In what ways you think billionaires and lesser filthy rich are affected?
Their carbon footprint? Carbon tax won't make a dent on the carbon
emission produced by their private jet trips and super yacht vacation.

carbon taxes can also generate more immediate environmental and health benefits, particularly by reducing deaths that result from local air pollution.

so you admit your vote can be bought by the liberals using your money

the carbon tax is extremely inflationary
it increases the cost of everything you buy that spent time on a truck, rail car or plane

Crop failure from climate change is inflationary.
Rising insurance costs from flood and forest fires is inflationary.

500 bucks per household, per year, is "extremely inflationary"? Like there is nothing else like supply chain issues, wars etc that cause inflation, but damn, the carbon tax does? Why because it is Trudeau? If 500 bucks is too hard for you, just see 1 SP less, per year and you are good.

Those numbers are all from 2019/2020. Obviously a lot of decline has happened since then, covid and all. You do realize Canada has a lower per capita GDP than Mississippi, the state that finishes last in the American Union, that`s poor. Canada also finishes last of 38 member countries in the OECD in economic growth until at least 2050, according to the OECD. Take a look at some articles from economics professor Kam at Ryerson if you want some hard truths regarding our country, or the Warmington article From swaggering to staggering, Canada`s decline into irrelevance. It`s incredible to accept that all politicians can be this useless and dangerous...just maybe all of this mess is by design?

What about our healthcare system? Many people are going to India and Mexico to get imaging done and treatment done. There is no bloody way TGH is even ranked in top 50 of hospital in the world.

My house hasn’t been declared hazardous or decrepit, or a fire hazard.

But the roof leaks, there’s problems with hydro wiring, there’s moisture and cracks in the foundation, appliances are really old, there’s mold in the attic. And it could really use a fresh coat of paint everywhere.

My parents are getting old and I might need to put them up, and I have new kids coming. My credit line is getting near the max.

I have an ok job, but things might get dicey, great friends and neighbors too.

what am I to do?

What have you done to generate environmental benefits since you cashed the
climate tax cheque? Have you reduced your carbon footprint by spending less
money or driving less often?
