As MAGA continues to purge the party of anyone not loyal to their orange god-king, the party shrinks to only cult members. MAGA is not driven by ideology or even principles, it's a cult of personality driven by rage, anger and hatred. In most cases MAGA isn't even concerned with governing, just maintaining and gaining power.

So what happens anytime a cult leader dies, will it splint or create it's own party. One thing is for sure, MAGA/Trump supporters will want someone also in the mode of dumb Donald. Someone who can play upon their perceived grievances and anger with a touch of charisma.

Everybody should know the old GOP is dead, it's not Reagan's party anymore. It's a party driven by the right-wing media industry, who preach a diet of lies, propaganda, fear and hatred.

Some people think the whole MAGA cult will die after Trump kicks the bucket. I dunno…if Trump wins the next election I think it may turn into a situation like North Korea where the Dear Leader is worshipped as a God and power is handed down from father to son...who in this case would be Don Jr I suppose… 🤮

I've been asking this question for a while.
Valcazar thinks there will be another MAGA leader who will keep it going.
I"m not so sure, its such a cult of personality over any policy or ideals.

rump is going senile very quickly now, though.
This fall is going to be crazy.

There is really no heir apparent to Trump. If there was he would probably try to sabotage the guy. He wants to dominate too much to bring someone else in. Also he is rather unique in his gifting and manipulation skills as well as his shamelessness and lack of... well so much.

What happens to Truon cult when Trudeau is gone?
TrueDooh doesn't have a cult. Be serious. He nowhere dominates the Liberal party the way Trump does. Also there are plenty of people who could obviously take over.

I still can't believe that Americans are stupid enough to re-elect that piece of feces, but if they do, they deserve the madness that will ensue. The Repugs are all in on destroying democracy, fixing elections, racism and homophobia. If Trump fails, they will be in shambles. I mean MTG has all the charisma of a bucket of puke.

I’d argue if little changes for his vote base, someone else will come along. Not unlike Trump came after Ross Perot and the tea party.

Except now the base is much much much larger, and pissed. Nor can I really blame them.

The soy fed host here should have Ann Coulter on and see how that goes.

She would tear up both Biden and Trump.
If Anne Coulter is your idea of a strong, intelligent critic, SMH.

It's a great question. Evidence from doomsday cults - when the earth does not end on their predicted day - actually strengthen their beliefs, where they believe their faith saved the world. You'll see a hard-core who will deify him, and new stories how Trump cured someone's cancer or how he built the semi conductor plants and infra structure that Biden and the Dem congress built will become articles of faith. At this point no con man has emerged who has the same sway, as trump always had novelty as one of his assets. Everyone else who follows will be like a cover/tribute band.

There is nothing new about maga. The stable genius is simply voicing and giving license to others to voice their xenophobia, racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, anti white immigration etc. among the gop. He has allowed what was in the dark to come out.

add to that the anti democratic, pro Russia, Christian fundamentalist, obtain and keep power at all times and you have today’s gop. Sad.

What happens when Trump is gone....is a very interesting question. I see a few scenarios. Let's look ahead and imagine he loses another election in November and/or goes to prison. Will the remaining GOPers try to regain control of the party and try to make it more centrist, or will the extreme side continue to hold sway. In either case, could a third part form? One for the MAGA and others for the more moderate GOP (or what passes for moderate now...).

Basically, we've seen a lot of right-leaning and centrist voters reject Trump and MAGA principles, and there is a strong change this will continue. So, I guess MAGA either burns itself out or re-invents itself to be relevant. Let's face the fact that the MAGA crowd has made this Congress the least productive EVER. They have passed so few bills and historically ousted a speaker from their own party....Failed an impeachment vote in their first kick at the can, succeeded despite dubious reasoning to do so...And let's not get into the Biden impeachment debacle....

Bottom line, it appears that MAGA just isn't good at governing, and I think many Americans are realizing that.

Now, there is obviously a chance that things can get worse. Say, some red states deciding to go it alone....and a civil war could brew in that wake. And, let's face the other fact that MAGA is pushing for Christian Nationalist agenda, which destroys the separation of Church and State. It could get really messy down there. And it is obvious that the Trump effect has basically allowed his followers to show off how deplorable they truly are...
