In fact, if Trump was made to pay $1B, instead of $364M, that would be an even bigger Trump win.
Assuming that Trump can appeal - i.e. if he meets the bond requirement - he has to convince the appeals judges that Engoron's decision was wrong - and Engoron is pretty experienced, so good luck. He then either has the judgment slashed to say only $200M, or he is told to re-do the trial before another judge who would probably then re impose another massive penalty.So he's losing all the time.
