No kid learns from getting a ticket… and worse if Daddy has a good lawyer to get the charge dropped. If convicted it’s a max $10k fine… insurance will skyrocket…IF… (should be no contest… since cop had it on camera and laser)

Here’s the bullshit… I got in an at-fault fender bender a while back… no one hurt, but other guy wanted to go through insurance… that shit stuck on my record for 7 years!!!

These Stunt driving convictions… 3 years!!!

If it were my kid, I'd make him/her pay the fine and perhaps the insurance uptick.
Yes, I'd probably find out if I can make the ticket go away, but I'd stick it to my kid as much as possible.

My guess is the kid doesn't really "own" any money, never having worked a day in his life...

I mean the legal system is there for a reason… no matter our opinion. Honestly though, if my kids did it… I’m not helping them fight it. Maybe the fine can be fought, but if it’s on radar and camera… conviction.

At this kid’s rate of speed, any collision would be fatal or damn close… so in a 50km zone… that vehicle is now a weapon.

If there is irrevocable proof… mandate a incontestable ‘punishment’ that sends a message:

- car has $5000+ release from impound
- if the driver is driving a parent’s car, some sort of impact to owner on insurance (1yr maybe… forcing the parent to realize the severity)
- publish the drivers picture (unless a minor)… we do it with impaired drivers
- revoke license entirely (have to start from scratch)
- increase time on driving record to minimum 5yrs (and higher based if applicable)
- make the driver uninsurable for 3-5 years on second offence + all of the above

Kids, and some ‘adults’ today think they are above the law and don’t know responsibility or have accountability… so make them understand.

And the stupid kid was asking to go back down to G2, and said "I have a clean record". Everyone starts to tarnish their record with some offense, and he accomplished it with flying colours! Dumbass of the highest degree!

His punishment is a slap on the wrist.
Suspend his life for ten years and make the fine 100x as much. These stupid kids, and punks need to learn the hard way. Make an example out of him.

By giving them Internet and cell phones. And not do any homework, house work and accountability.
Yes and no. That’s kind of a cop out. They still have choice. The kids these days just choose to be stupid, most of them.

So who owned the car ? My first car was an old small car that would never have hit 131 Kph if you threw it off a cliff.

I don't understand how stunt driving is any less then impaired driving. Some blows an .81 and is trying to be super safe driving, but science says that extra ".01" has made a person impaired, and despite driving way safer then a stunt driver he or she gets charged criminally. How the fuck is that fair? I think more often then not stunt drivers are more dangerous then impaired drivers.

Given the number of stunt driving, excessive speeding, and impaired driving incidents reported in the media its obvious the current fines and penalties are not a deterrent. The DoFo government needs to crack down more on this!
