In any event, I doubt Israel find this ruling laughable, even as our esteemed college Mandy does,:

The State of Israel shall, in accordance with its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, in relation to Palestinians in Gaza, take all measures within its power to prevent the commission of all acts within the scope of Article II of this Convention, in particular:

(1)
(a) killing members of the group;
(b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and
(d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

(2) ,

The State of Israel shall ensure with immediate effect that its military does not commit any acts described in point 1 above;

(3)
The State of Israel shall take all measures within its power to prevent and punish the direct and public incitement to commit genocide in relation to members of the Palestinian group in the Gaza Strip;

(4)
The State of Israel shall take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance to address the adverse conditions of life faced by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip;

Yes. And Israel is already doing all of that to the best of its ability and will continue to do so. And that's good.

I think you miss the point here somehow, Dandy.

The ICJ ruling would not have stopped Israel from continuing its genocidal war one way or another. ...
But the fact that the ICJ rejected calling for an end to the fighting says that they didn't see compelling evidence to demand a stop.

Isreal will back off when Isreal is good and ready. From the rubble and what not, that time might be soon. No doubt people that wasted a lot of air will think they “won” and accomplished something.

I doubt Saudi will do that. I have heard the Saudis ARE planning to make a peace proposal to Israel, BUT included that proposal wil be a clear and robust path to Palestnian statehood....
Frank and several of your colleagues would object to that.

What planet of 8billion people do you live on Kautilya. If as you claim Isreal has lost the information war, and public opinion/sympathy. And even 20-30%…..

Various governments would have stepped in. Or do you not understand politicians and politics. Maybe Vietnam might help you.

Vietnam? The war the indigenous guerrilla army won against a conventional superpower?

MBS is really maturing as a leader and finding his place. I think he has some very strong partners in Xi and Putin and they all want peace in the middle east as its HUGELY in their interests. MBS wants to be a transformational leader for Saudi and he cannot be that and sell out the Palis.
The Saudis are going to make peace with Israel. Their very real enemy is Iran. With proxi wars for decades to prove it. And the USA is a far better ally than Russia or China.

MBS knows he needs to modernize SA. Hell they just opened the first liquor store in 70 years. When the old king dies he gets the crown. And he will do it.

Peace with Israel secures things for them. They get access to the security intelligence network. Access to trade. Nobody cares about the Palestinians.

The ICJ ruled Israel has to end anything that looks like genocide and charge all officials who incite for genocide.
There is a lot of incitement to genocide on this board.
