Keith Sweat - Nobody

Keith's second best album after Make It Last Forever. Still in my rotation. Great cover of Slave's "Just a Touch"

I miss r&b like this. A ;limited amount of guest appearances strategically place throughout the album. Let the lead artist shine.

Big facts. Let the artist shine.

I'm not familiar with that album - I'll have to check it out.

Not bad. It's pretty true to the original - would of liked to see more creative interpretations/risks.
I tend to agree they definitely didn't diverge much from the original. My favorite R&B group of all time, After 7, was able to achieve this on their covers. For example

Sara Smile (cover of Hall & Oates)

Baby I'm For Real (Natural High) - covered The Originals and Bloodstone on the same song!!

Its the one with "Twisted" which was one of Keith's biggest songs of his career.

I've probably posted this before but it never gets old. This is right up there in my favorite R&B songs ever.

Al B. Sure! "Nite and Day" (1988)

This was another 80's R&B song that I loved. You can get the early New Jack Swing sound vibe, even if the song is more of a slower tempo

Force M.D.'s "Love is a House" (1987)

If you listen to the beginning of the song you'd almost swear that they copy some keyboard notes from Human League's "Human" which came out the year before. Starting at 0:19 mark.
