TERB WEBSITE ISSUES

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is getting ready for their big New Years eve bash or quiet night with family . I just want to give everyone a heads up regarding our website issues over the last couple of days. This time of year, as we always have, we make our year end server adjustments for the database. This year it did not go as smoothly as planned. We ran into some issues and lost some data going back to Wednesday. We will do our best over the next couple of weeks to restore those posts. Those of you who put up reviews are welcome to repost them, but we will do our best to restore as much as possible.

I also want to give you a heads up that we are still working on optimizing our servers and there might be periodic outages here and there. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Same with me... at first glance.

When I checked my posting history, nothing past 2020 showed up.

However, when I checked the Sankofa Square thread in the Politics forum, my posts were still there.

But when I searched for a specific quote (“civic expenditure”), the Search results did not show the thread.

I think it might have something to do with the database re-indexing itself. If there was some sort of server or data migration it would take time to rebuild and re-index the database where the posts are stored.

I wonder how big the TERB forums database is... must be pretty substantial.

Thanks for the information and the heads up.

I always worry that the servers might get hacked by some social justice warrior types.... or even taken down etc by LE in some misguided application of the latest laws.

If I might make a suggestion... Perhaps next time a 'Heads Up' type of message might be posted in advance of possible disruption.

Otherwise... I want my money back!

Based on doing some basic searches on content. I think you have lost pockets of data going back at least 3 years. At the moment I am missing all my post starting March 19, 2020 to Dec 30, 2023.

They are not lost, just not indexed yet. They will start showing up over the next 24 hours. Same goes for the search function.

Same here, all my posts between May 2020 and today are gone, at least according to my history.

From what @SchlongConery said, everything is still there, it's just not showing up in my history for some reason.

If something like this happens again, can you guys try to remember your Twitter account and maybe post something. Lots of ladies on Twitter had no idea what was going on and a tweet would have alleviated a lot of fears. I know its a pain when trying to focus on the main issues at hand but it would really help.

Not that I’m on Twitter but just think of the gals.

For a moment I thought Mothers for Liberty with Vibrators had shut the site down. My posting history is almost intact but it stops at Boxing Day, not sure if I posted any useless dreck after that, can't remember.

Was going to post the same request, that TERB twitter be utilized to provide updates.

Sessioned with a lovely MA during the shutdown and she was concerned about blank screens.

Reassured her there were probably technical issues regarding end-of-year maintenance.

Twitter seems to be the go-to medium these days. The TERB twitter that shows up on searches doesn't seem to have been used since 2020. Don't know if that's the most recent account. Have attached the address ...
