The hold-up has quite frankly been the United States. The US is clearly not satisfied with the original draft resolution that was circulated on Friday that called for a “cessation of hostilities”.
They asked for that wording to be changed and it was changed to “suspension of hostilities”, so a less permanent term there. And it’s been the US that we think has been continuing to ask for changes and modifications behind the scenes, behind closed doors.

What do you mean “thought”? Am I imagining intifadas or October 7 or that hamas has plainly said multiple times about wanting to kill all the Jews or that majority of your indigenous friends are supporting hamas? Which part of it is in dispute?

So I guess Hamas isn't going to surrender. Too bad. Hopefully this teaches the Palestinians to pick better leaders in the future. It would save them lots of death and destruction.
