The lead single from Sister Sledge's album We Are Family (1979). Written and produced by the musical geniuses Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic.

In 1980 Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards produced the entire album diana for Diana Ross. It spawned two smash hits Upside Down #1 on the Hot 100 and I'm Coming Out #5 on the Hot 100. I'm Coming Out has since become an anthem for the LGBTQ community.
Put your headphones on and listen to the bass playing by Bernard, its a treat. And damn that trombone solo is something

Not too long after this album Diana left Motown and signed a $20 million record deal with RCA.
