Trackmasters Poke & Tone with the production on this remix. Early 2000's heat.

One of the underrated gems from the Thriller album. One of the worst decisions I ever made was to sell my Thriller vinyl at a garage sale for $5.

The lead single from Sister Sledge's album We Are Family (1979). Written and produced by the musical geniuses Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic.

In 1980 Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards produced the entire album diana for Diana Ross. It spawned two smash hits Upside Down #1 on the Hot 100 and I'm Coming Out #5 on the Hot 100. I'm Coming Out has since become an anthem for the LGBTQ community.
Put your headphones on and listen to the bass playing by Bernard, its a treat. And damn that trombone solo is something

Not too long after this album Diana left Motown and signed a $20 million record deal with RCA.

Chaka Khan is definitely a favorite of mine. Damn this song is stunning. The expressiveness in her voice really comes through. And that guitar lick is just so infectious

Another favorite from Chaka. This was in her solo days after Rufus.

"Lady Love Me (One More Time)" by George Benson. From the 1983 album 'In Your Eyes The heavyweights came out for this one. The music courtesy of David Paich (keyboards and also co-wrote), Steve Porcaro (synthesizer), Jeff Porcaro (drums) and Nathan East (bass). Paich and the Porcaro brothers were members of the band Toto as well as seasoned session musicians for various artists.

Benson's instrumental hit Breezing is one of my all time favorites.

All Day Music by War is a fantastic album. The title track is my favorite but this one's a close second.

This has been sampled several times in hip hop. This one is probably the best - Poor Righteous Teachers "Rock Dis Funky Joint"
