That's correct...similar to when they tried to impeach Trump...and failed.

They succeeded in impeaching Trump.
They failed to remove him.
They had the most bipartisan vote to remove ever, of course.
They had the greatest success at using impeachment against a President ever. (The only other one in the running is the one where the impeaching side had the 2/3 majority in the Senate with just their own party - and that one failed to remove as well.)
All pretty good indications of just how much evidence there was against Trump.

He was impeached twice.
He was acquitted of the charge twice.
This has been viewed by many as the final proof that impeachment and removal is not a viable way to check and balance a President.
