These don't make the news but they are everywhere.I wish people flew Canadian flags in Canada with as much zeal.
If I had to choose a PR winner? Israel. The Palestinians suffering will be forgotten if Hamas is 'destroyed'. People forget and that is why we repeat our mistakes.
This is something to consider as well... PR all depends on where you live and how much time has passed. These don't make the news but they are everywhere.
Not yet. Kill Hamas and then let aid come to the Palestinians... Add some years and people will be onto the next crisis.I think Israel already lost this one.
Being brutally honest? I really cannot justify it either way as I don't truly care. It is not my religion-based fight. If my women and children were raped and beheaded, I would want vengeance as well.
I agree. However, the people paying the price are civilians. Looks like a 20 year clean up to fix what is broken. As far as buildings and infrastructure. 20 years won't fix the human toll.Being brutally honest? I really cannot justify it either way as I don't truly care. It is not my religion-based fight. If my women and children were raped and beheaded, I would want vengeance as well.
Exactly... Hamas will not get off easy as well. I'll remember the kidnapping, raping and beheading of Israeli civilians just as easily. This won't be forgotten easy.
Remember, starting in 2014, these wars are happening in the social media era. Prior to that, there was no twitter, facebook etc, or were in the very early stages and Israel could hide things, may be. Not so sure about this today. These are the days of grassroots, social media activism, citizen journalism and smart phones etc., Israel won't get off easy this time, and any other time in the future if they dont find a lasting solution to end the conflict.
I care about my own children and where my very own country is heading. It is concerning to me that the religious and cultural issues from other parts of the world are coming here and causing issues. I want to keep their shit over there. Its natural to care.
Its unnatural not to.
The question should be to the few who don't. Why do you not care, about 10,000+ people on both sides dying?
Canada is the vacuum. Years later, Don Cherry's "Milk & Honey" comment hits harder now.We don't live in a vacuum to only worry about Canada.
More every day. Some of the grievances go back 75 years and the arc of history has been bending strongly against colonialism. Extermination is not a winning foreign policy...I think Israel already lost this one.
Exactly. Genocides currently in Ethiopia and Yemen. Child soldiers in Congo. It's Africa, so no white people give a fuck.A lot more died in the Rwandan genocide. Nobody cared.
How many have died in the Russia-Ukraine war? How about Armenia-Azerbaijan? How about the Sikh separatists and India?
Who decides which conflicts are worthy of our attention, and which can be ignored?
You mean those 600,000 Palestinian refugees that the UN keeps repeatedly demanding Israel allow back?Just watched an interview on Hard Talk. BBC news. With Lebanese foreign minister. Steven Sakur was challenging him on the fact that Hezbollah has 600000 members in Lebanon who have no other connection with the country except as a terrorist organization bankrolled by Iran. He was pointing out that Israel already warned Lebanon that they will reduce Lebanon to rubble if they attack again. And the citizens of Lebanon will be the ones to suffer. As they are already doing. The country is a shit show.
