not everybody has $120 turkey...Walmart has a $70 which I'd say is fair and average. Metro had $59. Longos someone claimed there was $120 it all boils down to how big you want your turkey to be. the price varied from $3/lb (walmart) to $5 / lb.... I don't even understand buying a $120...a 5kg turkey is too big for a family of 5...and there are alternatives. the thing is, if there is in fact a $120 turkey, that's what will be highlighted... so far the highest i've seen in the groceries in durham is $88
So PeePee's claim is wrong?

Liberals always approach the problem from the wrong end. You can't fix a broken bone with a band-aid. You need to set the bone. The cost of living is being pressured by a multitude of factors: immigration influx, energy prices, lack of competition, high taxation and regulation, the lingering effects of shutting down the country for COVID, etc. This proposed solution addresses none of that and so will have very little impact.
I disagree...this is one of those things that the Libs are just trying to suck in people who only read headlines. i.e. dumb it down while not addressing the issue.
Like when the Ontario Libs promised to decrease car insurance by 15%...people were sucked in...it never happened, and the Libs simply said "it was a stretch goal".

"The budget will balance itself"...sounds catchy doesn't it?

I have to admit, their tactics are brilliant in that way.

So basically the Government created a policy to create weekly flyer ads. Very Progressive.
And a special task force to read and investigate them. So now we will have a dozen or so civil servants, reading flyers clipping coupons, spending their days in grocery stores, literally becoming fat cats.

How very liberal.

that has to be one of the most foolish statements of the year
yep.
while freezing “pantry items” might save a buck or two per trip. Kind of like buck a beer, but not even that good……………

Everything else driving inflation swept under the rug. Especially the parts he is responsible for, and the things he’s doing almost nothing about.

Constructive?
After creating the problem and coming up with a half-baked idea that won't fix it...that's constructive to you?
The only thing this might accomplish is to fool headline-only readers.

We’ll see if it works or not. In the mean time, keep cheerleading inflation.

Don't mention the jobs report either.
A good amount of that is immigration. Something we’ve always done and needed. Under JT we also have a housing crises, and a sanctuary city cost crises,

then there’s stuff like this. Here’s that per capita word again
By Philip Cross, July 26, 2023
In the past decade, Canada had its slowest per capita GDP growth since the 1930s, due largely to lacklustre exports and a sharp drop in business investment

You think immigrants come in and immediately get jobs?
That was our job growth?
I bow to your knowledge( things like indexes, budgets, per capita analyses and what not ) and superior knowledge against the likes of Dr Jack Mintz, Don Drummond, Phillip Cross. And these 3 ( there’s a couple more I follow) their credentials as you can see are beyond question.

Curious, what do you say about people who deny science and data from experts in that field?

you must be kidding

if you had a clue, you would know Trudeau has been doing something destructive for eight years, including contributing to the inflation
he is good at two things and two things only >>>> photo ops & spending other people money

you are beyond help if you think the corrupt, narcistic moron Justin will ever accomplish anything constructive
he is the worst thing to ever happen to Canada
