The Liberals and especially the LGBTQ want to make it about hate. When the real issue is the parents right on what is taught to their kids.
Schools need to get back to the basics and leave the other stuff to be taught at home.

I don’t give af about “Parents’ Rights.” As a society, I believe we should be far more concerned with the rights and needs of our children.

It's a shame you think parents have no rights in the raising of their kids. They must have run wild.
I hope if you have any you let them do what ever they wanted. Since you feel your kids right over ride all of your parenting.

It's the thin edges of the curve that matter: Do parent's have a "right" to raise their children to believe that parental incest is good? What about child marriage? "It's a father's job to beat his wife. Women are lesser."

Should parents have a right to teach their children that the earth is flat, or that Trickle Down Economics is good?

Governments provide education because education is a societal good. As a society, we should want children to have wide and deep education, to learn critical thinking skills, and to be able to discern fundamental truth from online grifter bullshit.

If you want to opt out of "Societal Good" education, you have all kinds of rights to home school, enroll in a private school, etc. If you're opting in to the government service, you get the education that is ostensibly most beneficial to society.

Is teaching kids about sexual orientation and sex education in grade school beneficial?

I've done this one already, but yeah.

First, actually read the curriculum. It's nothing like what you've been told:

Kids are fucking in grade 8. Better that they know how to handle the equipment vs. being 14 year old parents, or taking up healthcare dollars treating STIs.

Learning about your equipment and being able to name it destigmatizes it, learning about consent and healthy relationships prevents abuse. Learning that things other than cis-het exist and are not evil prevents suicide. All of these things, if you want to be pragmatic about it, save police and healthcare dollars.

Yes.

Girls hit puberty early these days.

PeePee and the cons are trying to tie themselves to this issue but after the total failure of this march and the larger counter protests PeePee sent out a message to make sure no con took any interviews or made any statements.
He's realized this is another losing issue, like bitcoin, being against CERB and unions.

If you believe that is what is actually being taught, please stop drinking the liberal kool-aid.

Please give me a specific, first hand, account of something else being taught. "my neighbours friends kid" or "a youtuber told me" is not a first hand account.

I'll bet you believe there are litter boxes in washrooms too.

If Liberal Kool-Aid is blue raspberry lemonade, then you can pry it from my cold, dead hands.

On one hand …a few political unions
On another..freedom of speech .
Except in order to be a teacher you must join the political unions. I am kinda shocked that more people don't have a problem with political activity or at the very least the financing of political activity to be a requirement for employment at a government [and some private sector] jobs, or for that matter to go to university. I am guessing the student unions and their fees are still mandatory and most if not all of them also do political activity.
I've heard some students defend the latter decades ago with democracy voting blah blah, but we all know they would be singing a very different tune of their fellow students were electing student unions who were fighting against say abortion and sending funds to the Frasier institute.

Threats against counter-protesters? I guess it's yet another case about freedom of speech that the right only thinks applies to them.

I'm willing to bet this will be yet another case of 83 internet heroes met by hundreds of counter-protesters.
You really think it's only the right who thinks freedom of speech only applies to them. Well it's that a lovely tea party.

They do have to join. They don’t have to agree. And if the union could stay the fuck out of politics, there are benefits to having it.

I actually often feel bad for teachers. They get it ( like many of us in PS) from both sides. Direct line of fire, targets for vitriol, and more. That said, they bring it on themselves. Or their union does

I hope there are litter boxes in washrooms. Where else are they going to throw the garbage?
There was a grandmother on the news yesterday who said her granddaughter(5 years old) come home from school talking masterbation.
Is that what you want 5 year olds taught in school?
If so, no wonder this country is going down the toilet.

Gramma on the news is not a first hand account. Especially Gramma on the news who's at a protest.

1: Gramma could be lying for clout.
2: 5 year old could have heard about masturbation from another student, kid on the bus, or youth pastor who's hoping to "open up the doors of the rectory"
3: 5 year old could have unsupervised access to the internet. Scroll youtube shorts for about 4 minutes, you'll see pussy lips.
4: If that really happened, why didn't gramma call the school and report the teacher/report the teacher to the College of Teachers?

Here we go. Gramma on the news is fake. You liberals got 101 excuses for everything.
Maybe the LGBTQ is bullshitting to? I know, I know, they would never do that.🤣
You just can't admit that it's not about hate, it's about at what age kids should be taught about this stuff and the parents RIGHTS.
