does mattress impact the performance?

recently i was in a hotel with a colleague of mine and somehow felt the mattress was so firm and nice and comfortable that we had one of the best sex of my life. she shared the same feelings too later on and said i want to get the same mattress at my home.
Do you also agree that mattress does play important role in making the mood and the final pleasure?
any recommendations can someone share for some good firm mattresses?

a good mattress can help, whereas a very soft worn out one sucks, where the mattress basically caves in with every thrust.

I had one way back in the day. King-size with a dual bladder so you could move in your sleep without waking your bed-mate.

The basic rule for sex on a waterbed is "don't fight the bed". Keep to its rhythm and adjust slowly if you're going to speed up or slow down...

My partners used to think it was great for sex, especially when they were on the bottom.
