Yes it will be closing for two weeks soon. However, the word on the street is that the cops closed it. The cops were called to many times to break up fights or by patrons who were compaining of assault. Under Quebec's liquor laws the cops can close it down after a number after a number of visits due to violence. When they reopen they will have to deal with it or be shut down again

At the beginning of July, Pigale got a 38000$ fine and a 18 day suspension of bar permit and license to exploit video lottery machines from Québec’s Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux. They would have to stop all activities during the suspension, so I’m guessing this closure is mostly related to the suspension of permit and license.
If I read the article correctly the infractions occurred back in 2018 and earlier and it just took this long for the government to decide on what to do. So it was pre-Covid, something that really changed the SC scene.
Today (Friday), I had to "scratch" a SC experience "itch", and stopped by Pigale before their pending shop close for 2 weeks. Guess what, it is closed already. I asked a dude that was getting into his truck at the parking lot, he tells me Pigale is closed for about 2 weeks, they open on Sunday 27 August. Not sure about the scene at Club 77. Oh well. Moving on to Plan B.
I wonder if they will actually renovate at all or do a deep clean. So what do they come back with, a new approach to build the business up?
In my experience every club has some maintainance which needs doing... when something like this happens they get it done / try to during the closed period. Unless your the club on bank ... then, they will close, say they're renovating and the only thing which changed in the levels of alcohol... if you know where to look there is still a freaking hole in the floor... which was there when it was the tease...

Was there yesterday.Some work was done looks like new carpet, narrowed entrance to ensure all visitors go thru the metal detector, Curtain around the small stage and sitting area, plus a few csmetic changes. New blue lighting was quite dark, took a while for my eyes to adjust. Had the 8:00 special burger & fries (avail from noon till 2:00 PM) and a draft beer. saw Selena , Ruby and Gia. Was called away suddenly so not able to go downstairs with anyone. There were posters sayying that they are bringing back the Buffet starting Sept 11 from 11:30 to 1:00 or 1:30. Alex the server was as beautiful as always.
